Original embossed brown cloth, stamped in gilt. All volumes contain library markings inside on the title pages and endpapers. Minor rubbing to covers, no exterior library markings. Vol. 5 only is dampstained with visible staining to the margins of the second half of the volume; the other four volumes are all clean and tight. Each volume contains black and white plates.

Dennis Water Cress was founded in 1874 in New Jersey and re-located to Huntsville in 1915. The booklet contains a brief company history followed by 8pp of water cress recipes.

An early title by Dorothy Emily Stevenson (1892-1973), a British romance author who became popular in the U.S. when her books were published in paperback in the 1960s. This novel deals with small town England in the aftermath of the British defeat at Dunkirk.
