New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1909. 7th Edition . Hardcover. Fine. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, maroon cloth boards decorated on front and spine. Exterior is clean and shows little wear. The worst issue being a small bump on the front board along the top edge. Decorated end pages and front and rear. No signatures or bookplates present. Pages are mildly toned due to age but book appears to have not been used very much as binding is tight. All edges gilt. An attractive copy.

New York: Golden Press, 1960. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hergé. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, illustrated boards show only minor toning and minor edge and corner bumping/wear. The biggest issue with the exterior is the clear laminate is lifting in a few spots, mainly on the spine and around the hinge areas. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are clean and show little use. Decorated end pages in front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates, no signatures, no library markings, no scribbling etc. First US edition thus with the copyright page showing the only Golden Press date of 1960 and the UK date of 1953. Publishers address shows the two digit pre-ZIP Code and the front board contains the proper number of 372:195 in the upper right corner.

Washington DC: United States Government Printing Office, 1933. Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, black cloth boards decorated with gilt on front. Exterior has minor spotting to the cloth and light spot on back, upper left corner. Interior binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are lightly toned due to age but are clean. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. Each page is followed by a lined paper page, which are also clean and contains no handwriting. Minor foxing is present though mainly limited to the end pages.

Chicago, IL: The Reilly and Britton Co., 1912. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, no DJ. No hinge cracks, bookplates or handwriting. Only interior issues is a few soiling spots and some pages that had the corner folded over. The folds appear more of a binders issue rather than a poor man's bookmark. Corners have been straightened out. Exterior shows moderate soiling and front bottom right of front board has a small scrape. White mark on spine - possibly paint. More of a VG- rather than a G+ rating.

Chicago and New York: Rand, McNally & Company, 1894. First US Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Pale green boards with black and white design and text on front and spine. First US edition thus with copyright page showing a single date of 1894. No signatures or bookplates noted, no torn or loose pages. Book exterior shows soiling and spotting, spine darkened. There's evidence on the front end page, upper right corner, where a price was penciled in and then erased. Book condition good plus. See photos.

New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1911. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. M. L. Kirk. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with original box which cover is decorated with the same illustration as the book. The box lid is broken at the corners and has an old tape repair on all four corners in the base has one side split in the box has some creases. The book itself is in beautiful condition: black cloth boards with large pasted illustration on front. Book would grade as fine for most but we lowered it to NF because of some small chips to the illustration. Internal binding is excellent and has no issues. Illustrated end pages and front and rear contain no bookplates, no signatures, no library markings. The only handwriting found in book is on the back of the first end page where, in the upper left corner is a very small "12/25/12" written in pen. Limited edition stating " of the first edition of this book 1500 copies have been printed and the type distributed. This is number 249". A nice copy with no handwriting or bookplates, no torn or loose pages. End pages show foxing, pages lightly toned. Exterior cloth boards show minor spotting. A very nice VG+ to near fine copy. New York: W. W. Norton & Company Inc., 1939. 2nd Printing. Hardcover. VG-/Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Inscribed and signed by the author on the half title page: "A Merry Christmas to Richard Farrell from Olga Samaroff Stokowski 1945". Stated 2nd printing at the bottom of the DJs front flap which still has the original price of $3.50 present. The dust jacket shows quite a bit of wear along the edges along with soiling and toning. The underside of the jacket was neatly reinforced with masking tape along the top and bottom edges and over the decades the tape is darkened with age. The gray cloth boards underneath show toning along edges and spine along with some minor corner bumps. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues present. Full title reads: The Apocryphal New Testament, Being All Gospels, Epistles, And Other Pieces Now Extant, Attributed In First Four Centuries To Jesus Christ, His Apostles, And Their Companions, And Not Included In The New Testament By Its Compilers, Translated From The Original Tongues, And Now First Collected Into One Volume. Book exterior is brown cloth boards with gilt on spine. Cloth is clean but has some light scuffing, almost like wipe marks. And pages show toning but no signatures or bookplates a present. Pages are toned and binding is tight. No author or publication date (1890 for this publisher) is listed. Printed on eight slightly heavier bond paper than typical.

London: Routledge, Warne, and Routledge, 1860. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, original red cloth with spine lettered in gilt. Three ads in front with nine pages of publisher ads in rear. Large foldout map attached as frontis. Map has about a 1" tear where it attaches at the top. No repairs or marks on map. Only handwriting found in book is a "ML #7" written in pencil on front pastedown, which can easily be eased, and on the ffep there was a price written in pencil long ago in the upper right corner which has been erased but here are still shadows of the numbers present. Binder's logo stamp on rear pastedown in corner. Spotting present on spine where a label is still partially present and there is both a white and a black spot on the front board. Small blowout at top edge of spine as well. See photos. Preface is dated November 24, 1859 and is entitled "Preface of the Ninth Edition".

Cincinnati, OH: Jennings & Graham, 1906. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover. Brick red cloth boards decorated with black and gilt on front and spine. End pages are clear of any signatures or bookplates. Front end page shows faint evidence of where a price was once penciled in the corner. Top edge gilt. Hinge is good end pages but page 334 shows hinge pulling a bit, making binding a bit wobbly. This is also due to the heavy bond of paper used. First edition thus.

New York, NY: Theo. Audel & Co, 1919. Hardcover. Near Fine. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Thin board hardcover, gilt on all sides. A beautiful copy with only minor wear noted to extremes. Previous owner's name on pastedown and embossed logo on front end page. No other handwriting noted. 183p. plus ads.

Copyright page only states published April, 1912 and has the scribner's colophon. Lime green boards with gilt on front and spine. Top edge gilt. Minor sunning to spine, fore edge of front board and spotting. Only noted issue on interior is page 93 has the bottom right corner torn out which measures about 1/2 inch. Boston, MA: Lothrop, Lee & Shepard Co., 1908. Hardcover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Wallace Goldsmith. Hardcover, no dust jacket. But that first edition thus with single date on copyright page stating published March, 1908. Light brown boards with black design, and gilt text on front and spine. Boards are clean and corners show only the faintest of bumping. No handwriting or bookplates, binding good. 423 pages plus ads, ad pages uncut. Only flaw in book is on front end page where a tan rectangle shadows a page where a scrap of paper once set. Upper right corner of the same page has residue from where 1/2 inch price sticker one was. The issue with the front end page (as pictured) is the only issue that keeps is out of a fine grading. Book condition graded as near fine. See photos.

Light pebbled boards with design on front. Boards show spotting and soiling as well as edge wear. Previous owner's name stamped on front pastedown, no handwriting or signatures noted. Pages are toned due to age and some smudge prints are present. No publication date listed (1904). Tolstoy's Letter on the Russo-Japanese War (first published in London Times, June 27, 1904), translation by V. Tchertkoff and I.F.M. (Isabella Fyvie Mayo).

Glassine paper is chipping on edges with small tears present. Book is clean and bright, yellow cloth boards decorated on front and back. No handwriting or signatures, binding is tight as book was never read as sections of the pages still remain uncut. This book must've been packed away when new and never touched, a beautiful example of this edition. See photos.

Camden, NJ: Graw, Garrigues & Graw, Printers, 1889. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover. Original blue cloth boards, blindstamped with gilt on spine. Dark brown end pages show no signatures or bookplates. There's a small dampstain on the front end page area that continues in a few pages. Front hinge cracked but not separated. Page 79 & 81 has a one inch tear on the fore edge, center area. Outside cloth has spots, which is the main reason why this book condition has been graded just as good. First edition thus with the copyright and title page sharing a single date of 1889. Title page states "Portraits of a Few Eminent Persons Who Settled in Early Times in the Counties of Salem & Cumberland, New Jersey". See photos.

Bound in green cloth with gilt illustration of a soldier, gilt on spine. First US edition thus with single publication date of 1871 on the copyright and title pages. Forest green end pages with front pastedown having owner's bookplate and first end page has penciled writing which states " Room no. 6, City Hotel, Frederick MD" and the rear pastedown also has a small number written in pencil in the corner. The second front end page bears the original owner's signature - also in pencil. These may be erased if desired but the original owner's bookplate and signature belongs to F. C. Knott - a noted banking executive and officer of Confederate Memorial Association for Frederick County. Scattered foxing is present as well as page edge toning. No hinge cracks found.
