Lugduni: Apud Haeredes Gulielmi Rouillii, 1602. Hardcover. Fair. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original thin flexible vellum boards with knotted strings on turn-ins still being present, and handwritten title on spine. Exterior shows wrinkling to the vellum along with some soiling and scuffing, old paper label is present on spine. There is also a letter X on the front cover which is written in either blue or green pencil. Internal binding is good in text pages are tight. The front pastedown contains a similar numbered paper label along with a bookplate from the Biblioteca del Duque de Medinaceli y Santisteban. The title page has 8-5 written at the bottom edge. This appears to be the only handwriting found in the book, no other markings or library references. The reason for the low condition grade is because wormholes are present. Germantown, PA: Christoph Sauer, 1764. No Binding. Poor. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. See photos for condition details. This original binding is missing both boards and at least half of the spine. The first end page has a hand drawn color calligraphic title along with additional handwriting which is difficult to read. This edition was first published in 1744 by Christopher Sauer (Senior),and then this edition was printed by his son: Christopher Sauer II, and contained 575 hymns, of which 28 were added to the original. In 1743, Sauer (Senior) published the first German-language Bible to be printed in North America (the first in any European language). The main book of 570 pages are darkened due to age but are, for the most part, in good condition. The damaged portions as seen in the images is the index in the back of "Melodien Register", where the pages are mostly there but are folded up and torn in the lower outside corner. Hardcover, original vellum boards with hand written title on spine. Exterior is soiled and quite darkened, front cover has remnants of an old paper label and rear board has what appears to be a bit of handwriting in the top left corner. The internal binding is good in text pages are tight. The front pastedown has a bit of writing in the upper left corner and the first title page also contains a signature, presumably of the original owner. No other handwriting found in the book, no library markings, no bookplates. This volume appears to be six different books, each one bound with its own title page and all bearing the same 1724 date. Steinenen Bruden zu Regensfurg, 1676. Hardcover. Fair-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover in original binding. The exterior is darkened and worn with several sections missing from the spine, rear board is hanging on just by the original binding string. The interior has some issues though the book appears complete. Most of the text pages are quite secure but the last section of pages starting at 903 through 907 are detached, as is the rear end page. Front pastedown contains a bookplate of the church where this came from in both the front pastedown and opposite end page has some minor pencil writing. The title pages stamped twice stating this along to the Redemptorist Library of St. Alphonsus church in New Orleans. No other library markings noted, no other handwriting found. See photos for condition details. Hardcovers, two-volume match set bound in original full leather with labels to spine. The two volumes contain four books in total with volume 1 containing book 1 & 2 and volume 2 containing book 3 & 4. The leather is spotted and soiled with numerous wear spots, spines are darkened and chipping is present on the labels. Each volume also has a small paper label placed on them and front and rear exterior hinges are cracked on both boards. The internal bindings of both books are similar with the text portion of the pages being secure and binding tight. The interior hinges at the front and rear boards show cracking, mainly due to the exterior issues. The leather at the exterior hinge points is starting to crack, with the worst being the rear board. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight though one of the rear end pages is missing. The title page bears the signature of Alexander Pitt Buchanan (Maryland and Virginia). There is also quite a bit of handwriting, mostly in pencil, on the front end pages and pastedown as well as the rear and page. Leather is in its original state and has not been cleaned are treated. Scuffing and soiling is present along with edge and corner wear, leather is cracked at both hinges. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing on the text pages though the end pages and pastedowns show very heavy foxing. The only handwriting found in book is on the front pastedown which is penned "Lexington Library No. 44". No other library markings or handwriting present. Please note: this is VOLUME 2 ONLY of a two volume set.

London: Jacob and Richard Tonson in the Strand, 1758. Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original full leather binding, banded on spine with gilt design and gilt to edges of boards. Exterior shows wear to edges and corners with tears to leather finish, spine is chipped on top and bottom. In addition: leather is cracked at hinges and binders string is showing. Despite the exterior issues the interior is in very nice shape. Marbled end pages at front and rear and exterior page edges as well. Text binding is tight though hinge is opened at one of the front end pages. Pages are toned but show only minor foxing in book feels like it was not used much. Front pastedown shows a bookplate with the name "J. B. Troy" and also a small label in the corner saying this book was once assigned to the Library of St. Charles College in Cantonsville, Maryland. Hardcovers, four volume matched set half bound black leather with marbled paper covered boards. This is the original unrestored condition. Black leather shows some minor scuffing along with edge and corner bumps/wear, marbled paper boards are toned and yellowed in spots with edge bumps and wear with the worst being the outside fore edges. The internal binding is excellent in the text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is scattered spotting present, though nothing severe. Books are tight like they were rarely read. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Leipzig und Stokholm: Gottfried Kiesewetter, 1749. Hardcover. Good+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Two books rebound into one edition. First book is by Patrick Delany entitled "Historische Untersuchung des Lebens und der Regierung Davids des Königs von Israel - Dritter Theil" 432 pp with a publication date of 1749. Second book is by Adolph Christoph von Aken entitled "Glaube und Sitten Davids, des andern Königes im Volke Gottes, zur Schadloshaltung der Warheit und Religion" Leipzig: Kiesewetter 1746 (first published in 1746) 462 pp. The only other reference to this second volume was found in the University Library Erlangen-Nuremberg. Both editions are bound into a single volume, likely a very early rebound. Covered in unknown animal hide with brown spot on front board. Both front and rear boards and end pages have scattered pen marks and writing. All other pages good. No pages torn or loose.

Exterior is untreated and unclean with leather cracking at hinges, first volume has what appears to be ink or paint on the front board. This is a rare first edition and was published simultaneously in the same year in London with the Dublin printing being the most scarce. Later volumes of this title were issued in 1784 and also 1786. The interior bindings of both volumes are good though there are some issues. Exterior spotted and darkened along with edge and corner wear. The front and rear boards each have two pinholes, each measuring about 2.25 inches from the outside corners. The internal binding is acceptable though there is some pulling in spots. The binding is still quite secure though and pages are tight. The front pastedown has some notes in pencil and an early bookplate from the English cleric and writer Reverend Frederic William MacDonald. Going through the pages of the book we found a few pages with some light pencil notes and/or initials. These are minor and may be erased if desired but we consider them part of the book's history. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover, full leather. On front pastedown is the bookplate of Alexander Pitt Buchanan(Virginia and Maryland). Book has large foldout map as frontis and two foldout images in rear of book. Pages are clean with minor foxing, front board starting to split at spine and is only about 30% attached.

Stamped on end pages and 1st page with statement showing book was from private library and donated. Some early pencil pricing on end pages and title page has original owner's signature. Pages darkened with foxing throughout. Much reprinted following their original appearance in the Public Advertiser, the Junius letters caused something of a sensation at the time for their outspoken attacks on the establishment, and for their support for John Wilkes and the freedom of the press.

Internal binding is good in text pages are tight. This is a two-volume title which is bound into a single book. The second volume has the title page at page 217. There is a lot of penciling, particularly on both pastedowns and the rear end pages. In addition, there are also a dozen or so pages throughout the book that has pencil markings outside of the text area. The text page markings are light enough to be erased if desired. Hardcovers, original matched set bound in thin flexible vellum style binding. Front and rear boards are tooled with gilt logo and the initials FAA. Spines are banded with hand labeled text. The interior bindings are similar in respect to the text portion of the pages. Nothing torn or loose and only minor foxing is present. Volume 1 contains two names on the title page and short text on the front end page. The rewritten page of a small number written in the upper right corner. Volume 2 is only a single name written on the title page but both the front and rear end pages contain a paragraph of writing which appears to be in Latin. The pastedowns on both volumes have issues with volume 2 shows quite a bit of lifting and tearing. Tonson at Shakespear's Head, over-against Catharine - Street in the Strand. Includes lengthly dedication by R. Molesworth 9dated march 16, 1716 to the Princess, Her Royal Highness Carolina, Princess of Wales. Total pages: dedication 46 pp., Poems 156 pp., 4 pages of advertisements. Three-quarter-bound lin leather with marbled paper boards. Spine is missing about 1" at top and 1.75" at bottom. Small 1" tear on one of the advertisement pages and several pages have pencil tic marks which can be erased if desired. An extremely rare copy.

Edinburgh: Printed by David Gray, for A. Kincaid and J. Bell, 1760. Hardcover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Original state, 219 p. with many of the pages uncut/unread. Original paper boards has the plain paper over-wrap acting as a dust jacket. Spine paper is completely gone. Owner's inscription on front pastedown. pages foxed and uneven cut - very early binding. Pages loose but still attached. No torn or marked pages noted.Publication date on title page appears to read MDCCI (1701) but upon closer inspection you can see where part of the L was worn off as well as the entire X as there is an indentation in the paper but no ink present. Correct publication date is MDCCLX (1760). Rough shape - see images.
