General browning of the text; fore-edge corners bumped; general wear to boards. Remnants of cancel at page 122. Page 213 is supposed to be page 123. Page 181 lacks corner not affecting text. Nonetheless a handsome copy. ; Harrington's economic basis for government had a profound effect on the framers of the constitution. A copy of the Commonwealth is known to have been bought by Thomas Jefferson prior to his departure for France.
