A rare book, it seems. This one has been read and still can be. It does have chips along the edges, creases on the spine and parallel to it as well. Bumped corners and a 15 mm tear near the upper left corner of the front cover. Pages are clean, tight and intact.

Probably about a third-grade reading level. Probably one of those books the governors of Texas and Florida don't want their white school children feeling "uncomfortable" about.

Material taken mostly from the files of Harper's Weekly and Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper'. A relatively rare book, it seems.

No dust jacket. I would say the book looks like it has hardly been read, but there are some areas of highlighting (by someone without a proper highlighter) early on in the book. These quit by page 73 out of 464, and then there are two more places, noted on the last page, following acknowledgements, where someone else underlined with ball point, forgoing even the pretense of highlighting. These marks are on pages 120 (small) and 175 (much more substantial). None of these scholarly(?) notations detract much from the reading itself. Pages are deckle-edged and tightly bound, and clean with the excepting of the above-mentioned markings of mysterious origin. I haven't read this one (yet) and it has been a long time since I read Catch-22, but I think there are some of the same characters within. I do know it is the same Heller satire that I have enjoyed before.

(Perhaps one of the worst things done by a modern president until the advent of migrant children in cages.) No spine creases and the pages are clean, tight and unmarked.
