First edition. Very little wear to the book, the dust jacket has a 1 cm tear on the front, top, near the spine. Inscription opposite the title page. Description:
Book shows very little wear, with blue fabric covered boards and white print and decoration on both covers and the spine. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. The jacket shows plenty of wear with many tears, some of which have been repaired with tape applied on the inside. This is a new translation (or was so in 1950) that hews closer to Andersen's intent than many previous adaptative translations. No publication date is given in the book, but the Introduction is dated 1950. I suspect this is a more recent 1970 printing. After the Introduction, there is a brief biography of the author, followed by 18 of his stories, including The Princess and the Pea, Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, The Emperor's New Clothes, Willie Winkle, The Ugly Duckling, Simple Simon, and 11 more. A fairly scarce book.

Description:
No dust jacket. Book shows wear at the corners and at the extremities of the spine, where the fabric is somewhat worn through. The pages are clean, tight and still rather bright. The only damage to the pages is shown in Photo #8. That little notch (about 3mm) is at the bottom edge of the pages and runs from page 31 to page 84, with the largest impact (shown) near the middle of that set of pages. Illustrated endpapers (photo #3), plus many illustrations throughout, some in color. A rare book. Part of the Rainbow Classics series from The World Publishing Company.

Description:
Very little wear, with some damage to the front endpapers and the page between the end papers and the title page (as shown in photos #6 & 7) being all that I have found. The cover has also come loose from the spine, being held in place by the glued endpapers. Ten traditional tales and a selection of nursery rhymes adapted to the world of Pooh. Some examples are Rabbit Decides to Make a Cake, based on "The Little Red Hen", Piglet Brings a Basket of Honey to Rabbit, based on "Little Red Riding Hood", and Pooh Gets into Some Trouble with Heffalumps, based on "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."

Signed by the author on the title page. A book of short folktales from around the world, to be read by or told to children of any age. The author has been officially proclaimed as "Seattle's Resident Storyteller". Little wear. The spine is uncreased and the pages are clean and tight. Mild wear at the corners. A rare book made ever rarer due to the signature (my search found no others on the market).

Description:
No dust jacket. Blue fabric covered boards little wear. Illustration glued onto the front cover, with gilt print and trim. The fabric over the spine is darkened, as is the gilt print thereon. Owners name on the half-title page. Seven color illustrations are included. Books of this era would have stitched pages, but the illustration plates were often glued in place after the fact. This meant that they were more likely to come loose. One illustration has been reattached with what is now very old and yellow tape, and two others are coming loose from the lower corner. The pages are clean and tight. Decorated endpapers. A well-known fairy tale that doesn't have to be read just for children. No date in the book, but research leads me to believe this volume was published in the 1930s. Rare.
