Ok, this book is massive. Every bird that has ever been seen in north of Mexico is here. Lots of color photographs, over 1100 pages, and about eight pounds. The ornithologists Bible, I guess. It has over 6,000 entries, 625 major articles, 1675 illustrations, and a bibliography of over 4,000 items. Book appears to have been gently used and shows little wear. This is a collection of features from the NWF's two magazines, all with full color photography. There are 21 articles about birds and 16 about mammals. This is a large book and will ship at or above three pounds, so a small shipping surcharge has been added to the list price.

A few spots on the page ends and you can see where the thumb was used to find the right page after pulling a critter out from under a log or rock. Color plates located in the center of the book, with some black and white illustrations scattered throughout. All pages intact. A very useful book, if you happen to be east of the Rockies.

A self-published book, signed by the authors and their golden eagle (ok, that last one is actually a rubber stamp made from a footprint). This is the memoir of a pair of animal rescue professionals and their work with eagles and other animals. Illustrated with many color photographs. Included is a brochure from their animal rescue agency (see photos). Little wear other than a bumped corner. Spine is square and creasless. The corners seem prone to curling a little.

The cover informs that this is Volume 1 of the Living Forest Series. Looks like there were twelve in total, all written about the author's experiences on a wooded island in Northern Wisconsin. This volume appears to be rather rare today.

No dust jacket. Paper covered boards show very little wear, with one small tear (5 mm) at the lower right front corner. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked, with many illustrations. Owner's name and a small notation inside the front cover, dated 1928. As special and rare as this book is, even more special is an inclusion that comes with it. Stored inside the front cover since 1928 is Yosemite Natural History Association Bulletin 2, A Distributional List of Yosemite Birds. This fifteen-page unstapled brochure was written by Enid Michael, a far more famous person than the writer of the book. Michael was the first female ranger/naturalist at Yosemite, arriving in 1920, and she wrote more about the history and natural history of Yosemite than anyone before or since. The pairing of this bulletin and book makes this a very special item.
