Unpag, 25 leaves w/ 46 reproductions. With light wear to covers, which show some crease marks and handling; some light wear to some pages. This facsimile probably date to the latter half of the C20th, possibly c. 1960-1990. Images from the original book are available online at the British Museum.

Some 400 b&w gravure illust. and 12 col. plates. Gilt titles to spine, blue cloth, col. patterned endpapers. The first major examination of the topic, the first to be translated into English and still a standard reference. In the original slip case. One description mentions a lid to the spine. This slipcase lacks a lid although it appears that there may have been a lid which has been removed. Otherwise the slipcase is in excellent condition with the title strip to side intact. The dust jacket remains in fine condition with just a small closed tear to hd of spine, now repaired with archival tape. Book is fine.

The cover has darkened considerably, and the inside of the covers shows light spotting. Otherwise a firm, sound copy, with no marks or inscriptions. 15 pages of ads to rear. Uncommon.
