Fine copies; the the binding is worn at the upper hinge else is in very good condition., The first Act banned public practice of Catholicism, Catholic priests were killed when captured; Catholic-owned land was confiscated and given to Scottish and English settlers, and Catholic landowners were relocated to Connacht. (Hence the expression attributed to Cromwell: To Connacht or to Hell.) The second Act set forth procedures for soldiers and officers who served in Ireland to recover a "great Arrears of pay". The third Act assessed Ireland the sum of £20,000 for support of the Spanish War, to be levied and paid "in such manner and form as by the Lord Deputy and Council, or any three or more of them shall be Ordered and Directed." Good. 4to. 8pp of thick card in which are inset 32 samples dyes threads per page, for a total of 256 samples, going through rose hues, then blues, greens, grays and violets, then reds and pinks, yellows, oranges and browns. Black textured cloth, gilt title on upper board. There is insect damage to the spine and rear board and a small amount of damage to the last leaf. The text gives the quantity of dye needed for 100 lbs. of wool. The publishers are importers of dyestuffs, colors and chemicals from Badische Anilin- & Soda-Fabrik, Ludwigshafen, Germany. Undated, but before 1925 as in that year Kuttroff, Pickhardt & Co. merged with General Dyestuff Corporation. Rare .

Contemporary full leather, old reback, black leather lettering label, gilt. Final advertising leaf present. Light wear to the hinges and edges and occasional soiling to the pages, but a very good copy. Contemporary signature of Edw. Leroy. Extensive annotations, additions and corrections throughout in the same hand. ESTC T66971. A second edition was printed in 1759. The British Language was an ancestral Celtic tongue spoken across what is now England and Wales until the Roman invasion, when it vied with Latin. It survived until the Arthurian era and has largely become modern Welsh and Breton. .

Erosion of the glazed cloth in the outer hinge gutters and the bottom edge, else a near fine copy. The dustwrapper is price-clipped. It is rough along the edges, with a short closed marginal tear at the bottom spine fold, and rubbed at the folds. It is still ion very good, presentable condition. Scarce edition of the author's masterpiece, an experimental version of the Grail story, regarded as her most significant contribution to English modernism. Picus finds a chalice in a wwell which he identifies as the Holy Grail and fishes it out with a spear. Later it is considered en early Mass chalice and then an early Celtic chalice. A 'Lost Generation" novel. .

Sometime nicely bound in quarter leather, spine in six compartments tooled in blind with raised bands, red leather lettering labels, gilt, marbled paper boards. The soiled title page has been remargined, and there is occasional light staining, especially near the rear. Surplus stamp of the Library of Congress on the dedication page. Overall a very good copy of a rare book. Three separate works. Edelstein called them three of the thirteen key works on the history of dyeing published before 1856. Only the work by Hellot on Wool had been translated into English before,; this is the first English translation of the other two works. .
