The spine is creased buy otherwise the cover has little wear.

Hong Kong: Salesian Cathetical Centre, 1959. Hardcover. Poor. This is a Catholic instructional book for school children describing Baptism and its place in Roman Catholic theology. There are 20 short sections on various aspects of the sacrament followed by a few pages of test questions at the end. The main instructional pages are always accompanied by charming colourful scenes with pop-up chracters illustrating the page. Weight: 0.6kg. Post free within Malaysia It's a pity that this lovely book is in such poor condition, but it does have potential for restoration. The cover is worn and the binding loose but it does not appear that any pages are missing. Two of the pop up characters are missing and a few more have come away from their fixings, but the vast majority of the pop-ups are in tact. The pages have mild to medium tanning and spotting.

Some articles have been previously published elsewhere, but most were commissioned for this book. Starting off with a survey of Southeast Asia as a whole, the book then devotes substantial country specific sections to varieties of belief and practice in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. A friend of the noted Urdu poet, Iqbal, Nadwi himself was propelled into the international spotlight when this work was originally published in Arabic in India in 1968. As a result of this work he was considered one of the greatest exponents of Islam in the 20th century. The work has been translated into English by Mohammad Asif Kidwai. 298 pages.
