Remarkably difficult to find in nice condition or, for that matter, in any condition.

Sections include; soups, gravies or essences, sauces &c., meats, game and poultry, fish, vegetables, purees, eggs &c., pastry, cakes &c., preparations of fruit, sugar, 7c., liqueurs, miscellaneous receipts. A tight example but regrettably damp damaged through the entire lower half. Still, very scarce.

A somewhat confusing edition; the first page of text is an "Advertisment" with a paragraph "Second Ediiton"; this is followed by a full page of "Notes To The Fourth Edition" of 4 pp. The remainer of the book consists of seperate sections, each with its own title page dated 1901 and individually paginated. Illustrated with small woodcuts. The sections are "The Hotel Fish and Oyster Cook", "How To Cut Meats and Roast, Boil and Broil", "The Hotel Book of Soups and Entrees", and "The Cook's Scrap Book: Blank Pages For Writing Recipes Upon" which actually contains no blank pages but rather various anecdotes about food and cooking. Issued as the first supplement to the Swedish-French-American Cookbook (Mrs. Ericsson owned the Swedish, French, American Cooking School in New York City. Collection of recipes for appetizers, salads and a variety of hot and cold entrees, desserts and meringues. A tight, bright example, few small spots upper edge of the front cover.

Very good, a bit cocked and with a closed short split to the bottom rear gutter. Occasional small stains interior. Despite the fact that is this is stated as a ninth edition, a remarkably scarce early American cookbook, first printed in 1850.

New York: British War Relief Society, 1941. Softcover. Good. Spiral bound in red and blue printed wrappers. 125 pp. Illustrations. Good only, covers show extensive use and soiling but the interior is clean and bright. Collection of British recipes from friends or from old British cook books.

Chicago: St. Agnes Guild, 1888. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. Advert endpapers plus one page of illustrated ads at front (one for chandeliers and the other for corsets) +162 pp. with index. Adveristing pages interspersed throughout. Book of choice recepies "contributed and approved by the best housekeepers skilled in cuisine, the whole carefully arranged and complied for St. Agnes Guild of the Church of the Epiphany.." The boards appear to have been covered by plain brown paper at one time and a good portion of this still adheres to the cloth. Interior occasionally fingered.

No date (circa 1915). 80 pp. Illustrated with photographs of the range and various pieces of related equipment and with full page illustrations of homemaking tasks. In addition to instructions for cooking on electric ranges and care of the equipment, ,ost of the book consusts of recipes that could be made on the electric range. Covers rubbed, newer ownership notation on the front free endpaper.

Octavo in brick colored cloth, gilt spine lettering. 155 pp. Very scarce, we have neither seen nor found any copies and OCLC locates but 2. Sub title: "A work succinctly setting forth hundreds of recipes for preparing plain and fancy dishes, such as have never before been presented in public print. Pronounced by all as a most valuable adjunct to the culinary art." In the preface, the author states that she was preparing to retire from a career as a professional cook, in which she had served for over thirty years; she cooked for two Preidents and many of the leading society people of New York and Washington as well as visiting European nobles.
