Light foxing on pages. Even with extensive wear to covers this book is still quite attractive. Ellaborately illustrated and original red stamped black cloth design on covers and spine. Covers depict a scene with sail boat journeying through polar ice caps with the golden light of a sunrise in along the horizon. Fishing boat with a cloaked man and loyal dog as well. Decorative borders around covers and also gilt titles on cover and spine. At conclusion of book (p. 314) "The Sequel to this Story will shortly be published, under the Title of "THE FIELD OF ICE.". First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by Riou (dessins). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
