Front Hinge Cracking, One map has serious tears, but it's all there, one fold-out illustration also torn. Wear at spine ends, backstrip darkened, however the covers and pages are still bright and fresh-looking. The foldouts (2 maps and 2 panoramic illustrations) have taken the brunt of the abuse. Gives names of mining camps and how to reach them. Donated to the West Point Library by George W. Lane, "Secretary of the Territory of New Mexico." The book appears to be a kind of school yearbook - but an odd one, with its emphasis - apparently much more important years ago than today - on fraternity life. Each of the fraternities has a few pages devoted to its past years activities. Other campus organizations are recognized as well - such as The Mathematical Club, The Greeley Agricultural Club, The Sprague Boat Club, etc, etc. There are also 26pp of very interesting 19th century advertising. 9.5" X 6.25" apparently rebound in heavy duty brick-red buckram. Various, 1910. 13 3/8" X 10 1/4" in dark blue leather. The covers are scuffed and abraded especially at spine ends and corners. Hinges are "iffy" but still holding. This is an interesting collection of songs bound together by Martha Beatrix Bacon [Later - Mrs. George Whitney] while she was in Paris just after the turn of the 20th century. There are 33 songs: a vocal part along with very challenging piano accompaniment. The sheet music is bound in along with the various covers. Some of these cover sheets are fairly plain, while others are colorful. Several have Art Nouveau designs. The music was published between 1898 and 1909. The owner's name and "1909 - 1910 Paris" are on the flyleaf. Miss Bacon's bookplate is inside the front cover. ONE OF A KIND ITEM.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket.

Large fold-out map has a long tear repaired with tape (a long time ago, by the looks of it); Binding is "iffy" with several groups of pages "sloppy" but still in place; one 4pp advertisement printed on especially heavy paper has worked its way loose, but is still there: Overall, about FAIR condition. This 150+ year old book is a goldmine of information about Oneida county. Jacket: some chips at spine ends, shelfwear, short tear bottom edge front panel - about GOOD to GOOD PLUS condition. 143pp. This book was apparently designed for collectors and dealers of political memorabilia, and the author does a nice job of that with numerous illustrations. However, he has also provided the reader with a nifty thumbnail history of American presidential campaigns. Interesting!. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good.
