All together a total of 58 illustration plates. Maroon cloth; titling in gilt and black. Binding is mostly complete but rough with both covers loose. All color plates are present and in near fine to fine condition, very worthy of framing or selling individually....Wish I had the time! The frontispiece (Historical Sketch of the Exposition) is missing, all other plates & the Map of Centennial grounds are present. 20 US State buildings are shown, 2 Japanese, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, etc...

Scarce early Christmas gift book. Original brown cloth, blindstamped and gilt titled/illustrated spine binding with AEG and plain green end papers. Gift inscription (Dec. 25th, 1860) from a man to a child. F. Brown edited this old tome and eluded to there being a follow-up book in 1861 but none surfaced. No examples exist online other than copies of text on microfilm at several places. Not surprising as she had only enough money (from an anonymous donor from Maine) to have very few printed.

1822 full-bound polished calf, gilt titles and decorations, lovely brown matching marbled end papers. Complete with 769 pages. Recently deassessed from the Abbie Greenleaf Library (formerly the Franconia, NH Free Library) in Franconia, NH. Light white stencil number on lower spine, 2 period book plates, 1 front verso FC and the other on the rear BC verso. Book #3469, in over 100 years it was loaned out just once, stored in the attic for over 50 years. Complete with the index and in Very nice condition.

A rather large scrapbook with over 106 pages filled with art and poetry, chromolithographs, etc... The assembler, or someone, has also included a list detailing each page Celia Thaxter, Sarah Orne Jewett, Hawthorne, Alice Carey, etc... mostly famous writers and poets. The earliest dated illustration is from 1861, Petersons's Magazine. Many illustrations and Chromos are printed in colors. Quite nice and full!

Springfield, Ohio: Hosterman Publishing, 1895 Each of these 5 magazines are quite large at app. 11" wide and 14" tall, similar to a LOOK or LIFE mag. Illustrated front covers with many stories, ads, poetry, etc... throughout the 20 pages. All are individually bagged and boarded but sold as a set. About VG to NF collectively with general wear and a few tears. A very small address sticker adorns each front cover for delivery in NH to: Blanchard Fowler, Short Falls, NH. A town, by the way, that no longer exists as it was incorporated into Epsom, NH in the early 1900's.
