Baltimore: Roger Zelazny, 1973. First Edition. First Edition. Roger Zelazny. Roger Zelazny, TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). One sheet of stationery, measuring 8 1/2" x 11". Typed on cream coloured stock, small stain, signed "Roger" in black pen, dated June 14, 1973 discussing his lectures, The Amber series and how it will probably take up 5 books. A very insightful letter. "June 14, 1973 Dear Charlie, Yes, you heard correctly. It is the weekend of July 14 & 15 that I will be lecturing at Berkeley -- a seminar offering called "Science Fiction: Myth Reborn". It will entail a number of speakers -- a couple English Professors, a Jungian analyst, a couple sociologists who have been using sf anthologies as texts for intro. soc. courses and a U. of Chicago Philosophy Prof, last I heard. My travel plans aren't really set yet, though. I mean, I don't know whether I'll be bringing Judy along and staying a couple weeks, or just flying out, giving the talks and returning directly to Baltimore. It all depends on a… Read More

"December 21, 1976 Dear Dena, I was sorry to hear of your illness, and I hope this finds you much improved . About those photos. Beginning in May, I began applying Bates techniques and my eyesight has returned to normal . I no longer wear glasses. It just occurred to me that I was still wearing them at the Nebula banquet when the photo was taken. Since I do not use them anymore, I would rather use more recent photos without them. Ergo, if you have not already printed that one for me, I would like to cancel my order on the pictures. If you have, of course, I will naturally honor our agreement . Thank you, and I hope this finds you up and around for the holidays, for which you have my best wishes that they be a… Read More

Description:
Sommiere, 1975 - 1979]: Durrell, 1975. 1st Edition. 1st Edition. Signed by Author. Original Autographed Letters &. An important literary archive of 14 letters from Lawrence Durrell to Henry Miller written mainly during the mid to late 1970's, a period of maturity for both authors who had more than established credentials as major international literary celebrities with stellar reputations as innovators & trend-setters. These letters mostly from Sommières on Durrell's letterhead, sent to Miller in Pacific Palisades, CA. All with intimate, fascinating content. The mid 1930's period in Paris was highly creative for Miller, & during this time he also established a significant and influential network of authors circulating around the Villa Seurat. One author who became a lifelong friend was the young British author Lawrence Durrell [1912-1990]. Durrell's reading of Tropic Of Cancer unlocked the possibilities within his own innate writing skills. Durrell sought Miller out, became a member of the Villa… Read More

New York: Farrar, Straus & Cudahy, 1959. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Dust Jacket Included. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Farrar, Straus and Cudahy, 1962. First Edition. 8vo., 232 pp. An exceptionally fine example in perfect dustwrapper of the author's second novel, preceded by THE PYX in 1960. The PYX and Four Days brought the author to the attention of American critic Edmund Wilson, who in his 1964 book O Canada observed: "One of the most interesting of the young Canadian novelists is John Buell of Montreal." Comparing the two books, Wilson noted: "Four Days ,… Read More
