Connecticut: Thornton Wilder, 1976. First Edition. First Edition. Signed by Author. Two cards handwritten by Thornton Wilder : One reply card 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" on beige card stock date and mailed Nov 22,1932, writing on the recto. Addressed to Mr. Graves, explaining to him to mail his books to his address and he would be more than happy to sign his books. Second RSVP card is 5" x 3" on creme coloured card stock. Wilder sent this RSVP to the Creative Arts Awards in 1976, explaining that he would not be attending as written on the recto. "Dear Harold and committee, I am now really old and half-blind. I am recovering from a serious operation and am under doctor's constant care. I regret that I cannot revisit Brandeis University next April. cordially Thornton, Wilder". Thornton Niven Wilder (April 17, 1897 - December 7, 1975) was an American playwright and novelist who won three Pulitzer Prizes: The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Our Town and The Skin of Our Teeth.
