Title printed in red and black ¶ A facsimile reprint of the original edition of 1929, with important new 6 page prologue by L.G. Stevenson, and 6 pages of addenda and corrigenda. Garrison & Morton, 6772: "This enormous bibliography of over 7500 titles is the catalogue of Osler's magnificent library. It is probably the most complete well-annotated bibliographies in the history of medicine. It reveals Osler's character better than any of his writings and stands as a monument to him".

Contemporary half calf, spine richly gilt decorated (joints partly slightly worn and slightly rubbed; corners slightly bumped). ¶ Last and best of an indispensable and valuable work of reference.--(As usual with Engelmann's publication, scattered browning and foxing throughout the volume).

This work is the only bibliography in English relating to falconry. Books in over 20 languages are catalogued (378 references), all with extensive and illuminating notes. This is a photomechanical reprint of 1977, which was first issued in 1963. P. Smit, Life Sciences p. 55.

Paris,: Delahaye,, 1874.. 48 pp. 8vo. Modern wrappers. Delahaye was one of the more important scientific publishers of 19th century France. This catalogue has over 900 entries. To name but a few authors: Bazin, Bayle, Becquerel, Charcot, Fournier, Ch. Robin, Van Heurck, Velpeau, Wecker, etc. --(Partly stained).

Altenburg,: Hofbuchdruckerei,, 1856.. xx, 239, [i] pp. 8vo (14 x 22,5 cm.). Original printed wrappers (dust soiled), uncut and unopened. In 1796, the Duce of Altenburg, Ernst II and his minister Thümmel ordered measures to improve the conditions of the poor, established health care for the poor, and a hospital was build (1802). The promising young Dr. Wilhelm Hagen became the first director of this charitable event. Unfortunately, his early dead in March 1800 abruptly ended his great devotion to poor relief. His library of 560 volumes was donated to the "Directorium des Armenwesens" as a gift for the hospital of Altenburg, and formed the basis for this interesting library, which counted in 1856 about 1600 titles. Only 5 copies in the WorldCat, chiefly in German libraries.

Oxford,: A. Rosenthal,, (n.d. ca. 1950). 12 pp. 8vo (14 x 21,5 cm.). Original printed wrappers (staples slightly rusty). Very accurated description of 198 books and papers with their prices. Many of the items are "introuvable" today. Rosenthal was one of the great British antiquarian booksellers of the past.

London,: Printed by Order of the Trustees,, 1903-1940.. Reprint edition, Wheldon & Wesley & J. Cramer, 1964. 8 volumes of which 3 supplements, about 4000 pages. 4to (20 x 28 cm.). Original dark blue buckram (spine very slightly spickled). ¶ A very good and complete set of this monumental reference source, being an author/title catalogue of one of the world's finest collections of natural history books. There are over 100,000 entries, including many with analytical and descriptive notes and information regarding the illustrations. An indispensable reference work, for long time out of print now.

A reivised bibliographical checklist of the works of Condorcet, extracted from the general catalogue of the National Library of France. There are 212 entries, including many rare and obscure publication. Finely printed on vélin.

Modern grey cloth with red morocco gilt lettered title-label on spine, original printed wrappers bound in. ¶ A very good copy of the original edition. With its over 3900 entries, this bibliography of geological bibliographies (and biographies) is an indispensbale tool for the history of geology. The work is fully indexed.--(Congrès Géologique International, 1891 & 1894).

With indexes on author and subjects. The second volume has author's autograph dedication to Gustave Planchon. Copy with the canceled library stamps of "Lab. de Chimie Biologique, Paris".
