Illustrated dustwrapper, showing sailing ship at berth, blue background with white and black writing on front panel and spine. In January 1865 the Confederate raider 'Shenandoah' berthed at Melbourne. The consequences of this docking had serious consequences to Great Britain and to the whaling fleets of the United States.
