The book bears a bookplate for the Seafarers' Education Service on the front paste down, with an additional informatory plate pasted to the front free end page. There is a circular rubber stamp from the Education Service on the title page. The edges of the text block are age, and have trace of foxing, the end pages are offset tanned, but the main damage, is to the Green cloth of the binding, which is flecked, with some discolouration from handling (mishandling) with rubbing at the head and tail of the spine. Illustrator: Photographic. 900 g; XIV, 442, 8, & VIII, 450, 8 pages, in 2 volumes both with blind stamped decoration to the top left of the front panel and gilt titling to the front panel and the spine. There are 4 photographs in each volume and occasional decoration. Traces of foxing to the preliminary few pages of volume 2. Both volumes front edges are untrimmed, as are the bottom edges. These 2 volumes were marketed for sale only in India and the British colonies. There is a ownership inscription on the half title page of volume 1.
