Illustrator: Photographic. 1.15 kg; 248 pages, includes bibliography and index, in original dark green cloth covered boards, with killed decoration on front panel, and colour illustrated dustwrapper. The text is illustrated throughout with black-and-white, and colour photographs, many full-page. A history of model soldiers, literally from prehistory to current (1972) times. Slight rubbing of the heel of the spine, with a couple of threads pulled, and slight spottiness to the top edge of the text block. The top corners of the fold over is the top of the spine rubbed. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 82 pp. Black and white photographic frontispiece, showing the author in his workshop with a late 16th century galleon. The text is illustrated with black and white photographs or black and white line drawings. Illustrated front cover showing a scale model ship and scale model ship making tools, with grey background and maroon writing on the front panel and spine. Corners of the book are scuffed and creased and there is scrapping along the top and bottom book edge. Sun damage to the spine with resultant trading of the writing and there is discussing to the head and healed spine and a small tear to the bottom front spine gutter. Covers are somewhat faded.
