This is a beautiful set, in maroon cloth and bright gilt titles and decoration to front cover and spine. Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked for all volumes. A couple of volumes have minor defects to covers. The spine of "Margaret" has had a bit of its color nibbled off by a varmint (see photo) . "King Solomon's Mines" has a splash of white to bottom edge of spine and back cover and "Child of Storm" has a long gray mark on the front cover. The remaining sixteen volumes have no defects, except perhaps having been read, very carefully. There is no publication date, but the set was printed in the early 20th Century, around 1910. . The novels include: Pearly Maiden, Marie, She, Allan Quartermain, King Solomon's Mines, Eric Brighteyes, Elissa, Black Heart and White Heart, The Spirit of Bambatse, Cleopatra, Lysbeth, Swallow, The People of the Mist, The Wanderer's Necklace, Morning Star, Jess, Heart of the World, Margaret, Child of Storm, and Nada the Lily.
