Front cover of volume I has two stained spots and many tiny white spots. Back cover of volume II also has many tiny white spots, no other defects. Contents of both volumes are excellent; Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked. Author's address on a small label on back pastedowns. . Both volumes are profusely illustrated with nearly 500 b/w photographic full-page plates, printed on coated paper. These depict mostly people and buildings. The set was issued with a lidded slipcase (pictured) which is also present in this offer, in Good condition. It has absorbed most of the abuse that would otherwise be found on the two volumes. It is bumped, chipped, water-stained, but still intact and serving its purpose. This set is an invaluable source of genealogical information as well as plantation homes. . 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 637 pages. E4 .
