Description:
Carmarthen, S. W. Wales: Unknown. Good with no dust jacket. 1889. N/A. Card. Delightful ephemeral dance card for the 'CARMARTHEN Quadrille Class Ball, New Year's Eve 1889'. A single card measuring 4.5" x 3" and printed in black and white on both sides. On the front it has the Carmarthen coat of arms with the details of the Ball in a decorative border and citing the Master of Ceremonies to be Mr. Geo. R. Lewis. Under tthe border it states 'Reporter, Carmarthen' - so assume this may have been a press invite? On the reverse it is laid out in 2 columns with the 'Programme' (of dances) on the left hand side and 'Engagements' on the right - for prospective dance partners to fill in their name. Sadly this is unfilled in...! The card is a little used and slightly grubby, but a lovely piece of social history. Wish the Quadrille class was still going - I'd be there to dance the Polka, or the Schottische, or the Parisian Quadrille, etc, etc! ! .… Read More

A Rare vintage rubber Mickey Mouse - stamped Walt Disney Productions on the bottom of one shoe and MASUDAYA, Japan with a ? Mt Fuji Logo on the bottom of the other shoe. A rather elongated Mickey in non-bendy rubber - it's possible the rubber is 'bendy' but I feel it's not, and I'm not about to try. Size is approx 7.5" Tall. I have been unable to find out much about this - but the style and 'dress' of this Mickey is very 1920s/30s. Toy manufacturer Masudaya was founded in 1923 in Tokyo. Rare Disneyana.
