This is a particularly and peculiarly lovely copy of the First and only edition ever publisher but of this influential and much cited work. Handsomely rebound (probably by the master printer Pat Bruno in 2000) but incorporating the original covers in the form of marbled paper and then newly rebacked, with the publication date (1788) stamped to spine. A short, squat octavo form. Five raised bands to spine, ornate fleurs-de-lis in the compartments made thereby.
