Lady Chatterly's Lover (Privately Printed 1928 Edition)

By Lawrence, D. H. (David Herbert)

Florence, Italy: Privately Published, 1928. This edition states "Privately Printed, Florence, Italy,1928" on the title page, and may be an early pirated or "secret" version of the first edition put out while the book was being banned and destroyed. This printing does not have limitattion numbers or the author signature as some do, and is bound in brown faux "leather" style of cloth. Just as with the ones in the blue covers, this version embelleshed in a number of places (title page and some chapter heads) by rather interesting illustrations by an unknown artist, depicting a goblin of some kind doing "science" experiments on hapless little naked humans. Some of these are a bit erotic, so we should in general say "Adults Only" on this one. Condition is Good, with mild aging and some foxing to page paper; still sturdily bound with mild shaking to hinges. Exterior presents decently, though with some rubbing, page-edge toning, and moderate wear to corners.. Early Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Octavo.

Legion (SIGNED)

By Blatty, William Peter

New York: Simon & Schuster, 1983. SIGNED by the author (verified by comparison to other copies) on the title page. Basically Very Good but for a small area of dew effect stain to upper spine area of page edge, with mild ripple in that limited area of about an inch by an inch. The front free endpaper has a prev. owner embossed stamp, and also a tiny smudge (quarter inch at largest) of something (like a food drop) that also contacted the other side of the enpaper. Else the book shows quite minor wear and appears as Very Good.. Signed. SIGNED, First Edition. Hard Cover. Good+/No Jacket. Octavo.

KANGAROO (US 1st)

By Lawrence, D. H. (David Herbert)

New York: Thomas Seltzer, 1923. A decent copy, though with library marks to title page and missing the free endpaper. Formerly of the Westside Jewish Community Center Library. Pages show some browning, mostly at edges. Binding is sound, save for a weakened area to front where the endpaper was torn out. Cloth covers show some bumping and fading to spine. An affordable way to get an otherwise fairly expensive Lawrence first.. First American Edition. Full Cloth. Ex-Library/No Jacket.
