Landscape quarto album ( 10" x 7" ) with twelve real photographs of Edinburgh scenes ( each approx, 8" x 5" ) all by Inglis and with a title and his monogram along the lower edge of each plate. Inglis worked as a professional photographer c1881-1916 in the Calton Hill area of the city. A published album. original cloth boards with bevelled edges, gilt lettered to front board 'Photographs of Edinburgh' and with a printed title page 'The Edinburgh Album. Photographs by Alex. A. Inglis'. Probably c 1895 - there's a plate of the finished Forth Railway Bridge which opened in 1890. Another shot shows Waverley Station from the castle before the North British Hotel was built ( opened 1902 ).
