Foxing to covers and spine very slightly faded. Front free-endpaper missing (including frontis illustration). Small brown mark to top margin of title-page. Page browning throughout. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with slight loss, small mark to centre of front panel, price-cut with new price above in ink (3/6).

Pale blue cloth, dark blue title to spine and vignette to front cover. 288 pages. Cream and brown frontis plate. Spine bumped. A couple of tiny foxspots to front cover. Endpapers, prelims and outer page edges foxed and page edges lightly browned. Blue pictorial wrapper is edge worn and torn with tape repairs on verso. Small ink mark to rear panel.

Spine slightly bumped. Some small nibbles to top corner of front cover. Endpapers partly browned, light foxing to outer page edges. Pages 39-42 have slightly ragged edges where the pages were not trimmed correctly in the binding process and have been roughly opened (text not affected). Dustwrapper has old tape repairs to verso which have started to show through to the front, top corner of front panel has been nibbled by rodent.
