Published by A. & C. Black Ltd., 1928. 1st edition.. Hardback. Very Good. Illustrated by Outhwaite, Ida Rentoul. Very good condition with no wrapper. A Fairy Story. Blue cloth, dark blue title to spine and front cover, with decoration to front cover. 8 Colour plates and 8 b/w plates, other b/w illustrations throughout text. A beautiful book. Some browning to covers, with a few marks. Couple of corners bumped, with very tiny amount of chipping and fraying to cloth on a couple. Light foxing/browning to endpapers, outer page edges and a few to contents. A few plates have grubby margin marks, with one plate having a little edge-chipping and a closed edge tear (though it doesn't affect picture). Still a lovely copy of this book. Reduced from £400.

Green cloth covers with bevelled edges, red title to front with illustration of a Brownie swinging in a cobweb. Marbled endpapers. Packed with charming pen-and-ink illustrations, many full-page. A typically stylised Outhwaite fairyland. 184 pages. Oblong format. Spine bumped and rubbed at top and tail. Corners slightly worn. Two small dents to cover foredges, Contents near fine with just the occasional very pale mark. A super copy of this rare fairy book.

B/w illustrations throughout by Ida S. Rentoul. Spine and corners bumped with wear to corners. Edges rubbed. Covers a bit grubby. Tiny booksellers sticker to front pastedown. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned, foxing to contents. Quite a number of the illustrations have been very neatly coloured in. A very scarce book.
