A handsome mural tablet has just been placed in the parish church, Barnstaple, to the memory of the late Mr. Lionel Bencraft. The deceased filled the office of Town Clerk for years. Research indicates that this edition was rushed to press because they were preparing the play of the same name for the London stage for early 1851.This is the first edition , with half-titles. Vol 2 reads "there" instead of "their" at the end of line 20 on page 17.
