Green cloth with gilt caricature of author, gilt title to spine. A little bumped at edges and a small area of light fading to back cover. Stylish two tone caricatures of notable people and events of the early 20th century. An artistic political pictorial commentary of Bernard Shaw, Lloyd George, Mr Thomas Hardy composing a lyric, Bonar Law and Signor Caruso to name a few. In very good condition.

Hinges are week but holding. Neat, early ownership mark on front free endpaper. All text and illustrations are tightly bound some age toning to page edges, otherwise in tight and bright. The hand colouring on the illustrations skilfully completed.

Pp 71 all coloured Caldicott images. This book included "Scenes with the Old Mickledale Hunt", "A Lovers Quarrel", "The Legend of The Laughing Oak", "The Strange Adventures of a Dog Cart", and "The Curmudgeons Christmas. A little light toning to page edges, not affecting illustrations.The four full page hunting plates of the Old Mickledale Humt are very attractive.

Pp 94. 12 black and white pictures of William Pogany illustrations laid on. Pages in brown text with line drawing decorations at head and heal of text. The last two pages are uncut and losely inserted in this is a 3 page Supplement to Mayle's "Omar" providing a detailed vocabulary of the words used within the text. The supplement is worn at the endges with some loss to blank margins. All pages and binding of this book are in near fine condition.
