N.p.: N.p., 1979. Vintage oversize photograph of musician Lou Reed, used as the album photo design for the front cover of his critically acclaimed 1979 solo album, "The Bells." The resulting album design features a significantly cropped version of this original image, and as a result the photograph on offer has a good deal more visual information at all four borders. Garry Gross, who name is penciled on the verso of the mounting board, was a prominent fashion photographer best known for his controversial 1975 photographs of a nude ten-year-old Brooke Shields, later appropriated by artist Richard Prince for his 1983 series "Spiritual America." 15.25 x 15.5 inch image printed on 16 x 20 inch photographic paper. Print mounted on a 20 x 24 inch illustration board as originally used, with a 22 x 24 x 8 inch ply archival mat. New York: B Movies, 1978. Vintage flyer for the 1978 experimental short film. Prominent members of New York's No Wave film scene and, along with Amos Poe and Eric Mitchell, progenitors of the Cinema of Transgression, Beth and Scott B were a pivotal and galvanizing force in that era's explosion of punk-political filmmaking. The pair would make six films together between 1978 and 1981, largely dealing with themes of individuality, mind control, and sexual domination and submission, and often starring luminaries of the New York Underground. 11 x 17 inches. Folded once horizontally, else Fine.

London: Rough Trade, 1981. Vintage UK poster for the 1981 release of the Virgin Prunes' first EP, "Twenty Tens." Distributed by Rough Trade and released on the Baby Records label in the UK, humorously referenced here with the phrase "Buy Buy Baby" (also a sly anti-capitalist dig, consistent with the band's leftist bent). Formed in 1977, Irish post punk band the Virgin Prunes gained a significant cult following for their avant-garde, theatrical performances. The band disbanded in 1986 after the departure of front man and songwriter Gavin Friday, with the remaining members continuing to perform under the name The Prunes until 1991. 12.25 x 16 inches. Very Good plus, with some light creasing, rubbing, and edgewear.

New York: N.p., 1975. Vintage press booklet for Lou Reed's 1975 album "Coney Island Baby," designed by Andrew Wylie with photographs by Mick Rock. Containing edited lyrics from the album's title track, and featuring quotes by Lester Bangs, David Bowie, Ralph J. Gleason, John Rockwell, and Andy Warhol. Rare. An unusual press booklet, befitting Reed's output of the 1970s, designed and produced in a decidedly 1970s DIY New York underground style by Andrew Wylie, who in the 1980s would become Reed's long term literary agent. 8.5 x 10.75, side-stapled in card wrappers. Four pages. Faint rubbing to the wrappers, with light toning overall, else Near Fine. Crisp and clean.

Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1989. Two different Draft scripts for the 1990 film. Both are working scripts, one with annotations throughout in manuscript pencil. Both here under the original title, "Lambada! The Forbidden Dance." After her home in the Amazon rainforest is threatened, a princess (Harring) from an indigenous tribe heads to Los Angeles to express her complaints and decides to bring attention to her cause with a Lambada dance contest broadcast on live television. The film was hoping to cash in on the then-current Lambada dance craze. Set in the Amazon and Los Angeles, shot on location in LA. First draft: Blue titled wrappers. Title page present, dated 1989, with credits for screenwriters Roy Langsdon, and John Platt. 105 leaves, with last page of text numbered 104, with blue revision pages throughout. Manchester: Factory Records, 1980. FACT 30. Vintage cassette containing interviews with members of the Sex Pistols, housed in a vinyl pouch. Designed by Peter Saville. Factory Records' Christmas gift for 1980, despite having never released any music by the band, was a cassette containing a 1977 interview of Sid Vicious and Steve Jones by Judy Vermorei on side A, and an undated one featuring Paul Cook, Johnny Rotten, and Malcolm McLaren's grandmother by Bondpen Publishing on side B. Cassette: Near Fine with some light rubbing to the gold paint. Tape unplayed and unexamined. Vinyl pouch: 6.5 x 4.5 inches. Lightly rubbed and Near Fine. Manchester: Factory Benelux, 1985. Vintage poster for the 1985 Stockholm Monsters single, designed by Trevor Johnson for Factory Records and released by Factory Records Belgian imprint Factory Benelux. The Stockholm Monsters were an integral but often overlooked part of the Manchester/Factory Records scene of the early 1980s. Their highest-charting single, "How Corrupt is Rough Trade?" was an experimental and aggressive attack on Factory Records' then-distributor Rough Trade Records. After several line-up changes the band parted company in 1987. Manchester designer Trevor Johnson was instrumental in the design and branding of Factory Records as well as Factory's Hacienda Nightclub in the 1980s and 1990s. He formed the UK design studio Johnson/Panas with fellow designer Tony Panas in 1985. 15.75 x 23.5 inches. Very Good plus with some creasing along the right edge.

Hollywood: Paramount Pictures, 1980. Draft script for the 1982 film. Satirical horror farce, based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Jerry Belson's cinematic directorial debut, based on a late-night sketch from ABC's answer to Saturday Night Live, "Fridays," wherein comedian Mark Blankfield played a recurrent cocaine-snorting pharmacist. Belson, most often noted for sharing writing credits with Steven Speilberg for "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and winning three Emmy's for "The Tracey Ullman Show," co-wrote with notable sitcom screenwriters, Michael J. Leeson (two time Emmy winner for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series 1981 "Taxi" and "The Cosby Show" 1985), sister Monica Johnson ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Laverne & Shirley") and Harvey Miller (head writer, director of "The Odd Couple"). Manchester: The Factory, 1978. Vintage flyer for a show at The Factory on June 9, 1978, featuring Joy Division in their fourth concert under that name. The show also featured Pete Shelley's short lived experimental trio The Tiller Boys, and an unbilled Durutti Column in their third live performance. Rare. Joy Division's fourth confirmed concert after changing their name from "Warsaw," and their first concert after the release of their self-financed EP, "An Ideal for Living," six days prior. The show on June 9 was the first of eleven shows Joy Division would play at the club. The June 9 show was one of four Factory shows advertised on Factory Records' first official graphic, Peter Saville's landmark "Use Hearing Protection" poster (FAC 1). New York: Sire Records, 1978. Vintage jigsaw puzzle released by Sire Records to promote the 1978 album. Featuring the iconic album cover art, conceived by David Byrne and executed by artist Jimmy De Sana. The sophomore release from the Talking Heads, and the first of three releases produced by Brian Eno, transforming the relatively obscure but critically acclaimed band to national notoriety, largely due to the success of the record's only single, a cover of Al Green's 1974 song, "Take Me to the River." 12.25 x 12.25 inches. Deinze, Belgium: Vooruit, 1991. Vintage tour poster for a performance by Nirvana at the Vooruit in Gent, Belgium, on November 23, 1991. The performance was held only two months after the release of the band's landmark album "Nevermind," and featured Hole as the supporting act. In 1991, Nirvana signed with DGC Records and released their second studio album, "Nevermind." The release catapulted the band into international fame, and is credited with bringing the grunge movement, a mainstay of 1990s popular music, to a mainstream audience. The November 23 concert at Vooruit was the only performance on the band's tour to feature Hole as the supporting act, with the band Shonen Knife being the supporting act through the majority of the tour. Hole's frontwoman, Courtney Love, would marry Nirvana's lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain the following year, in 1992. 26.25 x 37.75 inches. Near Fine.

Heavily photo-illustrated throughout, in both black and white and color. Scarce. Comprehensive biographical dictionary of late seventies and early eighties rock, punk, punk-post, and new waves acts. Written by two Australian music journalists, centered primarily on the UK scene, including numerous ska, reggae, and R&B influenced acts, as well was essays on the Japanese and Australian post-punk scene. Very Good plus in oversized perfect-bound wrappers.

Vintage Canadian one sheet poster for the 1984 Canadian sexploitation film. A Canadian cult favorite, wherein a group of teenagers set about saving a summer camp from becoming a shopping mall, while having as much sex and wearing as little clothing as possible. Shot on location in Beaverton (!) and Lake Simcoe, Ontario. 27 x 41 inches. Fine, folded as issued. Canuxploitation Complete. Carlson and Connollly, Destroy All Movies.

Brussels: Sound and Vision, 1986. Vintage Siouxsie and the Banshees Belgian concert poster, for a performance at Forest National, Vorst, on April 22, 1986, in support of (and one day after the release of) their 1986 album "Tinderbox," with a small "Belgique / Brussels" stamp at the bottom left. Siouxsie and the Banshees' seventh studio album, released April 21, 1986, was the first with new guitarist John Valentine Carruthers, and has been since widely hailed as one of the band's best albums, as well as one of the best albums of 1986, and features the enduring hit single "Cities in Dust." The "Tinderbox Tour," which began a year before the album's release and six months before the October 1985 release of "Cities in Dust," included the band's longest tour of the UK, as well as stops throughout Europe, North America, and South America, and ended on December 5, 1986 in Buenos Aires. 39.5 x 27.5 inches. Vintage setlist from an unidentified X show, circa 1983, featuring 24 tracks on two leaves, each a Xerographic duplication in vocalist-bassist John Doe's hand, and bound in the center with a piece of black gaffer tape. Represented on the setlist are tracks from the band's first four albums, the last of which, "More Fun in the New World," was released in 1983. One of the most influential and longest running bands to come out of the Los Angeles punk scene of the late 1970s. Formed in 1977, X's sound traversed not only punk, but rockabilly, country, blues, rock, folk, and funk. After two hiatuses and a couple of lineup changes in the 1980s and 1990s, the core members of the band reunited in 2008 and continue to tour today. X was the subject of the documentary "X: The Unheard Music" (1986), and also appeared in two seminal 1980s music documentaries-Penelope Spheeris' "The Decline of Western Civilization" (1981), and Derek Burbridge's "Urgh! N.p.: N.p., 1983. Vintage Husker Du 1983 "In The East" concert tour poster, a "tour blank," with space at the lower margin on which a venue could add performance date information. The tour was taken to promote the band's first studio album, "Everything Falls Apart," released in January 1983, with dates "in the east" taking place in the spring of the same year. Seminal punk/rock band Hüsker Dü formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1979. Headed by core members Bob Mould, Greg Norton, and Grant Hart, the group would define the hardcore scene in the early 1980s with constant touring and breakneck sets, quickly garnering a nationwide audience and critical acclaim. Like many ambitious punk bands, Hüsker Dü quickly expanded their sound, releasing "Zen Arcade" in 1985, a groundbreaking record that incorporated elements of folk, psychedelia, and rock and roll. Considered by many to the the most sophisticated and sublime of all their releases, Depeche Mode's seventh studio album, "Violator," propelled the English electronic New Wave band to international stardom. Preceded by the release of two smash hit singles, "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence," the triple platinum "Violator" achieved the band's greatest critical and commercial success, and lists 167 on Rolling Stone's 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. 40 x 60 inches, folded as issued. N.p.: N.p., 2014. Photograph of the Velvet Underground and Nico, shot by Billy Name circa 1967 and struck by him in 2014. SIGNED by Billy Name in silver ink on the recto, and with his stamp on the verso. Name, who had gotten his start in theatre, met Andy Warhol in the early 1960s, and appeared in Warhol's 1963 films "Haircut No. 1-3." Name was also responsible for covering the Factory in silver foil, and began living there, documenting the day to day and artistic lives of Warhol, his collaborators, and superstars. "The Silver Age," an exhibition of Name's Factory photographs was held at the Milk Gallery in New York from November 12 to December 7, 2014, and at Serena Morton II in London from September 30 to October 23, 2015.
