William Holden is an expatriate cattleman in Mexico during the Civil War who supplies the Union with cattle until Confederate Colonel Rossiter, played by Richard Widmark, kidnaps the cattleman, leaving him little choice but to cooperate with the Confederacy. Based on the 1946 Broadway play, and a prequel to the 1941 film "The Little Foxes." In the fictional town of Bowden, Alabama, the wealthy Hubbard family holds onto their old-South prominence and prestige through exploitation and cruelty. A searing portrayal of racism and class privilege in the post-Civil War American South. Set in Alabama. Green titled wrappers, noted as REVISED FIRST DRAFT on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped production No. 7494, dated June 9, 1947, with credits for screenwriter Vladimir Pozner. Burbank, CA: The Malpaso Company, 1971. Vintage borderless photograph of Clint Eastwood and Don Siegel on set from the 1971 film. With a rubber stamp crediting photographer Andre Marinie on the verso. Based on Thomas Cullinan's 1966 novel, set during the American Civil War, about an injured Yankee soldier (Eastwood), who is rescued by a teenage girl from a Southern boarding school. At the school, the students and staff are at first shy to the soldier, but as he recovers his charms win them over. As he "seduces" nearly every student and staff member, jealousy among them arises, creating a steamy and sadistic theme (including some scenes of sexual tension that "beguiled" censors and audiences of the 1970s). Don Siegel would direct Eastwood the same year in "Dirty Harry," a far throw from the dramatic, repressed feel of this film. Chicago: Zev Braun Productions, 1970. Draft script for an unproduced film called "Carruthers," circa early 1970s. Written by David Zelag Goodman, whose film credits include "Monte Walsh" (1970), "Straw Dogs" (1970), "Farewell, My Lovely" (1975), "Logan's Run" (1976), and "Eyes of Laura Mars " (1978). Based on a story by Benjamin Manaster ("Goldstein," 1964, director), set in Texas just before the Civil War, with lead character named Carruthers, an Army Captain, and references to the Mexican Army and the Alamo. Black slave characters also present, as well as reference to the "N" word. It appears Carruthers is hung from the gallows at "Fade Out." White titled wrappers. Title page present, undated, with credits for screenwriter Goodman and story writer Manaster. 111 leaves, with last page of text numbered 109. Mechanical duplication. Basis for the Academy Award-nominated 1940 film directed by Raoul Walsh starring John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and Claire Trevor; the only film in which Wayne and Rogers appear together, and the second of only two films on which Wayne and Walsh worked together after Walsh discovered Wayne as a 23 year-old prop man. A woman marries a seemingly peaceful Kansas schoolteacher only to find that he attacks both sides during the Civil War for his own profit. Very Good in trade size wrappers (softcover). Copy belonging to actor Johnny Crawford, with his name in manuscript ink on the front wrapper and cast page, and his annotations on page 11. A sheriff begins to suspect that the drifter he has taken in may be the army doctor whom he blames for the loss of his leg in the Civil War. The episode originally aired on January 3, 1958, on CBS. Housed in a brown card folder with a label noting the script title affixed to the front. Red titled wrappers, dated 10-24-57. Credited here for screenwriting are novelist Jessamyn West and one of the film's producers Robert Wyler. Wilson was finally given the credit by the Screenwriters Guild in 1996. Based on the 1945 novel by Jessamyn West. Members of a Quaker family in 1860s Indiana must individually reassess their faith and morals as the Civil War looms closer and closer to their home. The first in a two-part series chronicling the underground cultural history of Memphis, Tennessee, from the Civil War through the twentieth century. Tav Falco, member of the rock and roll band Panther Burns, narrates autobiographical stories of his time in Memphis as well. Fine and unread in illustrated wrappers as issued.

Blank book-style yearbook (largely still blank) belonging to Elizabeth Floding with numerous inscriptions and well wishes from various students and faculty, including a four-line Gellett Burgess poem written to Floding by Margaret Mitchell: "I never saw a purple cow, I never hope to see one, I'll tell you one thing anyhow, I'd rather see than be one! Ha! Ha! Margaret Mitchell." Additional ephemera also laid in, including a piano recital program and various small photographs. "Gone With the Wind" writer Mitchell attended private girls' school Washington Seminary in Atlanta Georgia, where presumably Floding was a classmate. The book also contains an inscription to Floding from English teacher Eva Paisley, whom Mitchell would credit as the first to recognize her writing talent. Though very loosely based on true events surrounding the two-year Red Cloud's War, during which a Cheyenne Native American chief repeatedly attacked US forces in an effort to stem the flow of White settlers, this film centers around a white man who attempts to help a Sioux tribe retrieve a large number of stolen horses, white attempting to convince them to join up with the Union soldiers instead of the Confederates.
