Volume 3 covers the reigns of King Stephen, Empress Matilda, her husband Geoffrey and Duke Henry from 1135 to 1154. Volume 4 contains facsimiles of the original charters. Both volumes with price-clipped dust jackets, volume 3 with tears to the top of the back panel (now repaired), volume 4 with a very small tear, but they are handsome books in very good, clean condition.
