Manchester,Simms,1873, small 4to, pp.xxiv,165. Very good in the original green cloth. Not to be confused with the Chetham Society volumes of the same title which cover the period up to 1587.

Oldham, 1904 to 1906. Three volumes, over 900 pages and about 230 illustrations. Covering from 1130 to 1798. Original red cloth, bevelled edges. The covers of all three are unevenly faded for some reason, but they are absolutely tight and sound. The author's own copies with his bookplate inside each volume. A most sought after title and one of the scarcest and most important Oldham books.

John Heywood, Manchester, 1886, first edition, pp.xvii,456. Original cloth, an unusually good, tight copy of this important reference work. Previous owner's neat label and name inside.

Saddleworth,1925, pp. 56. Original printed wrappers with yapp (overlapping) edges. Covers lightly marked, the edges with some inevitable very light wear, but very good, sound condition. Scarce. The story of a festival held at Dobcross in 1845 with name,age and place of residence of the 125 guests aged 77 years and over.

Uppermill, n.d. (c.1925), pp.224. Very light rubbing to spine ends, endpapers a little browned, but a very good copy in the original cloth-backed boards. Frontispiece portrait of Wrigley by Sam Fitton.

Simpkin & Marshall, 1851, pp. vii, 154. Original cloth. Binding secure but spine neatly repaired and rubbed at ends. Frontispiece heavily foxed and some further foxing to first few leaves, smallish brown stain to a couple of leaves. Still a sound copy.

London, Arthur H. Stockwell, n.d. ( circa 1910), pp. 256, very many illustrations of churches and people. Original blue cloth in good condition. Some page corners creased, a few signs of use, but a good, sound copy.

Manchester University Press, 1913, large format, pp. xvi, 211. Original card covers, yapp edges. Number 29 of only 300 copies printed. The title continues, Being a Bilbliography, with biographical details of Bolton authors, and the books written by them from 1550 to 1912; and those printed and published in the Town from 1785 to date. Yapp edges creased as inevitable, a few short tears, but good, sound condition.

Original plain cloth, top of spine creased, corners trifle worn, untrimmed page edges a bit browned, but good, tight, sound condition. Original paper title label on front cover. Previous owner's bookplate inside. Page.398 bound after p.400 as usual. Includes a directory of the town for 1852.

Rochdale,Clegg,1903, pp.117, frontispiece. Neatly rebound in cloth. There are dusty finger-marks to the title-page and a few other pages, otherwise a good,sound copy.

Published by the author, no date. Original cloth, 79 pages. Number 61 of a strictly limited edition. Very good condition. Includes detailed information on the history of the Old Wellington Inn and the Oyster Bar.

Burnley,Lupton Bros,1906, first edition, 4to, pp. xvii, 265 and over 120 ilustrations chiefly from the author's negatives. Complete with the folding map in the rear pocket. With a list of subscribers. Very good, bright condition with just some light rubbing to the spine edges, in the original green cloth with gilt lettering. Covers the dialect, traditions and folk-lore of the district along with notices of some of its notable men. There is a short tear in the pocket at the back caused by retrieval of the map.

Manchester University Press, 1920, pp. [8]. 115. Original black cloth, spine dull as usual, but a sound copy. Short mainly marginal tear in one page.

Oldham, 1891. A small booklet of 92 pages, bound in modern cloth with the original front wrapper preserved. The wrapper is browned, else very good condition.This is taken from a series of articles printed in the Oldham Weekly Chronicle, and is on the History of Saddleworth Schools. A scarce little Saddleworth item.
