Mantua: Giuseppe Ferrari, heir to Alberto Pazzoni, 1741. 8vo. 214 pp. Title printed in red and black. Contemporary Italian marbled boards. Spine partly perished, boards attached but loose. A fine 18th century edition of Gionta's famous work on the history of Mantua, first published in Verona in 1570 and reprinted in many editions for centuries. The present is the second of two important Mantuan editions, revised and expanded by Federigo Amadei (b. 1684). An 18th century owner has added one page of manuscript notes at end on Mantuan events from 1796.
