This signature is not quite what you see from Jessie Willcox Smith, unless it changed over time which happens, and I have not found that she has a niece, Barbara. Of course, Barbara could have been a favorite child Jessie, who never married, may have known. Two very small tears at the bottom of two pages, not affecting anything. Always one of my favorite books, and the perfect gift for that someone special! Forty-two pages of sweetheart poetry with rose decorations on every page and text illustrations too. Of the 42 pages, eight are full page illustrations by Howard Christy Chandler (frontis), F. Cootes, Will Grefe, Harrison Fisher, Clarence F. Underwood. Small scratch on pictorial pastedown - "Be good Sweetheart and let who will be clever." Very light wear to corners. 42pp.
