New York: The Republican Club of the CIty of New York, 1909. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Addresses at the annual LIncoln Dinners, includeing among other speakers Robert Ingersoll, John P. Newman, Charles E. Hughes, and Booker T. Washington. AN appendix include remarks by ex-presidents Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, and Theodore Roosevelt. Note on copyright page says "This Edition is limited to five hundred copies, of which this copy is Number . . . . . " but the number is not filled in.

New York: Macmillan, 1948. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/poor. DJ ripped with chips missing; book is very good, although gilt lettering faded

There are many editions, including facsimile editions like this one, that have been published through the years since Lewis Carroll wrote my favorite children's classic, but all of them feel like the right version of Alice, with the right typefaces and the Tenniel illustrations. This is a fairly ordinary copy in good shape (a small tear on one of the middle pages). It is more for the nostalgic reader than the book collector.

New York: C.M. Saxton, 1849. First edition. Hardcover. Good. The first of several editions of The American Farm Book, complete with over 100 illustrations. PReceeded in 1847 by A Brief Compend of American Algriculture. Ex school library accoring to handwritten note on front endpage. Blind-stamped cover with somewhat faded gilt lettering and vingnette on spine. Pages are all foxed but clearly readable. There has been some folding of the edg of pages, especially near the front and the binding is slightly loose at the front, although all pages still attached. Some damage to frontispiece.

A large (8.5 x 11) volume of 400+ pages A label on the front endpaper states that "The Metropolitin Museume of ARt 1870-1970 presents this book to Ardsley High School through the generosity of Geigy Chemical Corportation," but there is no indication ath it is ex-library

Chicago: Geo. W. Ogilvie, 1890. harcover cloth. Very Good. One of about 130 romantic novels set in English country houses written by a popular 19th-century English author (1836-1884)--also known as Charlotte Braeme. They are noted for their descriptive passages and the high mrals of the protaginists. This would be "Fine" if not for fading on part of the front cover and spine. The pages are in great shape as are the interestingly patterned endpapers.

Large trim size (7.5 x 10) with hundreds of photographs along with stich-by-stich directions for each item

London: Bradbury & Evans, 1846. First Edition, 4th State. Hardcover. Very good. David Perdue. One of the Dickens'annual Christmas Books, 175 highly illustrated pages. The gilt on the embossed cover is bright. and the interior is in very good shape. The main damage is to the spine, where the front edge is locing bits of the cloth, but the gilt on the spine and front cover is still bright.

New York: Random House, 1936. Hardcover in red cloth with black type on spine. Very Good. Collection of 67 stories by well-known American authors in chronological order from Washington Irving to WIlliam Saroyan, including Jack London, Herman Melville, Willa Cather, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway Although technically ex-libary, the library stamp appears on the endcovers and title page, because the library was for a senior-living center there was no general circulation and therefore very little wear.

New York: Appleton, 1856. First American edition. Hardcover. Good. Soms light spotting on front cover, two back pages with small portion torn off (no text lost). Stamped cover.

Detroit, MI: Citator Publishing Compny, 1907. First edition. hardcover cloth. Fine. Clyde E. Darr. An epistolary novel in 140 pages, each page graced with light sepia drawings along with the text. Cover and title page identify author as "Scota Sorin," Mrs. Troop's pseudonym. Very bright cover and pages in good shape throughout. Spine partly faded. A blank page preceding the frontispiece has the following inscription (in ink): "To the Williams With the author's omplements, Aug 4-10" so it technically is not signed by author...but.

New York: A.L. Chatterton Co., 1911. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Rudolf Mencl. Adventures of a Boy Scout Troop, written for readrs of about scouting age Although ex-libary and also with an inked in signiture on the inside front cover, the book itself is in very good condition with a four-color cover that is still bright and a secure binding (altthough no longer tight)

New York: Robert M. McBride * COmpany, 1946. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Very Good. A streamlined Western complete with accused sheriff killer who must clear his name and a couple of women who complicate the effort. Slight spotting on cover (half dozen small spots from some liquid drips), otherwise fine.

Buffalon NY: Duggan Publishing Co., 1903. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. A collection of articles on Roman Catholic beliefs, illustrated with color plates and B&W photographs and drawings There is one abraded spot at the edge of the pine, but otherwise the book is in good condition. Lettering on spine somewhat faded and the gold lettering on the embossed lack cloth cover is slightly faded.

Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1951. Board_book. Very Good. This is not a first edition or a book-club edition. There is no date on the title page or on the copyright page and no indication that it is a later printing. It is the edition published simultaneiously in Canada by McClelland and Stewart.

Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1929. Hardcover. Fine. Bright clean copy, but no DJ.

New York: F.F. Collier, c. 1900. Hardcover green buckram with eleborate stamped decoration in gilt, green, and blac. . Very Good. THe "standard authors" are unusual--Gerald Griffen ("The Collegians"), The O'Hara Family (" The Peep O'Day" and "Crohoore of the Billbook"), Samuel Lover ("Handy Andy"), John Francis Waller ("Life of Dean Swift"), Jonathan Swift ("Gulliver's Travels"), and Oliver Goldsmith ("Vicar of Wakefield," "The Deserted Village," "The Traveller." "She Stoops to Conquer,"The Good Natured Man," and miscellaneous poems). Each volume has 400 or so fine engravings, many of them full page (that is, the size of stanadred typewriter paper, 8.5 by 11 inches)` Covers are faded and scuffed, with spines very faded (gild still bright). 2-inch rip along spine of vol. 1. Pages are yellowed but all there and well-bound.

The front of the dust jacket is the portrait by Augustus John, looking very romantic. A substantial voume at 896 pages. Dust jacket has lost its spine, but front and back are in tolerable shape (part of the spine is tucked into the book. The book's spine is faded, but otherwise it is in good condition
