First published in English in 1895, this is the enlarged third edition. Translated from the German of 1892, "Das Jüdische Weib", by Louise Mannheim. Preface by Dr. (Moritz) Lazarus, Nahida's second husband, whom she married after the death of her first husband and she became a convert to Judaism at the same time. Seven page "Register of Names" and a 1 page "Works of Reference" at the back. The book shows mild wear to the externals (board corners and spine tips are lightly bumped) and the spine is darkened. The interior is clean and the binding is tight. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .

(Rabbi) Slonim was ordained a rabbi in 1937 and served for 50 years in various Toronto congregations, the most notable of which was the McCaul Street Synagogue. He also served as the associate editor for the Toronto Telegram and often travelled to the Middle East on assignment. Essentially a memoir but with a difference. Slonim speaks to all with the same voice in his continuing efforts to promote understanding and knowledge between peoples who are often at odds with each other. Illustrated with six pages of black and white photographs and two of reproductions. Other than a slight spine lean (the book is mildly cocked), the condition is near fine. .
