Hurst and Blackett, 1871 First edition.With an engraved frontispiece & title-page.pp x 336 + 16 page publishers catalogue at end.This copy has been nicely rebound in three quarter brown marbled leather with marbled boards.Red title label with gilt decoration & lettering to the spine.The binding is in near fine condition but page 9 & 10 have a repair to the top of page with no loss of text.Page 11 & 12 is torn to the top of the page with loss of one word on the first & last line of text.Slight light foxing to title & frontis otherwise a very good & attractive item.The author was a Scottish soldier & hunter who travelled widely in America & Africa & wrote many books.This is an account of hunting and fishing in Montana Territory apparently just before the discovery of precious metals there.
