Scrapbook. Very Good. Hardcover. 1931-1936 --Handwritten 'Commonplace Book/Journal'-- Yvonne O. Miller of Schenectedy, NY shows plenty of spark during the Great Depression. Her journal is a brightly collaged mash-up of torn ticket stubs and handwritten annotations. (94) pages of (175+) annotated items-- neatly assembled in chronological order-- movie ticket and football game stubs, menus, prints, all sorts of memorabilia. Yvonne Miller added a line or two about most items in the journal, and her take on people, places, and events. Album is in (3) sections-- the journal (approx. 65 pp), prints (approx. 15 pp) and care & feeding of babies (approx. 14 pp). 1931-1936 'Commonplace Book' -- is in very good condition - 12.5" x 16"..

Sveiven gathered his fellow GI's autographs and quips in this 7"x 4" album. Sveiven kept stamps here too; he collected some during the war and added others after he returned home). Inside cover: Property of Joseph Sveiven, Casablanca, Africa, Wed. Dec VIII 1943. Notes written by friends refer to Joseph Sveiven as 'Cap'. WW2 Soldier's field-book has 37 pp. - Sveiven's own entries/ autographs, sentiments & quips by Sveiven's fellow soldiers/ postage stamps. Joseph Sveiven wrote: "leaving Mt. Snelling on June 3,1943 to Camp Kilmer, NJ; leaving June 13th for Africa; saw submarines on June 15th (no damage done), a submarine attack in June 22nd (it was sunk), sailing 300 miles off course to avoid more German U-Boats.  Arrived at Oran, Morocco on July 5th. Photographic Image. Very Good. Hardcover. A lovelyL photo album recalling Lena Bland Currie's 1951 cruise to Hawaii. The album measures approx. 10"x7" with 35 captioned snapshots. The larger photos are 6.5"x8.5". Included are postcards, clippings and additional ephemera. The final leaf of the album contains the obituary for Lena Bland Currie in 1966. An album in very good collectible condition.

Berg relaxing in San Bernardino, CA before shipping out to Patterson Field, OH for bivouac and training into 1943.While at Patterson Lt. Berg has snaps of the mess tent, guys playing and working, practice ariel strafing, the Officer's Mess, chapel choir pics....Next on to Oran- NW coastal Algeria where we see a series of small portraits of other men in Berg's Company We're now into 1944 and Lt. Berg has left North Africa, and we see him in Naples, Pompeii, Nancy, Capri, Marseilles; now on to Palestine Lt. Berg was attached to the 15th Depot & Supply Squadron 1942-1944, and did a lot of travelling. 150+ photographs, 1x2, 2x4, 3x5, 4x6 inches. The album is approx. 11.5" x 7.5", and the rear board appears to have been replaced. Overall in nice collectible condition. Domestic s/h $15..

Photographic Image. Very Good. Hardcover. signed. c1978. This photo album belonged to Commander William Allen Morgan, Commander of VXE-6 "Operation Deep Freeze". The front of the album is marked 'Commanding Officer VXE-6'. There are approx 55 photos [ 5x7 - 11x14 inches], together with newspaper clippings of VXE-6's deployment to Antarctica, and its rescue mission of downed Russian pilots. One photo labeled Operation Deep Freeze is a composite photo of all the men in the Post. Also a phograph inscribed to Commander Morgan signed by W. Graham Clayton Jr, Secretary of the Navy December 1978. There are 16 large photos measuring 14" x 11" loose in the back showing planes and helicopters, penguins, etc. .

Photos of Indians living on the Cherokee Reservation have details written on photos; details also written on photos of the Sigmon family- mom & dad, with friends, & their 2 kids.
