Original blue decorative cloth, gilt and blind tooling to spine, gilt and embossed vignette to upper board. Spine sunned, slight edge wear. Occasional neat pencil underlining. A large number of the Clan LIne's ships were requisitioned by the British Government during the First World War. They were called "The Scots Navy". Of 62 ships at the outbreak of war, 28 were lost.Only two copies of this rarer edition held in the UK: National Maritime Museum and the City of London Guildhall, who both query the date of publication. Not held in the British Library. The more common Cassells reprint was published in 1924.

Original cream, red and black embossed boards. Spine and corners a little rubbed. A nice copy, complete with all cards carefully mounted.
The Sturm Cigarette Company (Sturm Zigaretten, Storm Cigarettes or Military Assault Cigarettes) was created by the Nazi Party's Sturmabteilung (SA). The plans originated in 1929 when Arthur Dressler proposed setting up the factory in Dresden, the centre for cigarette production in Germany.. The sale of its cigarettes provided the SA with operating funds. Coercion and violence were used to increase sales. The Nazi Storm troopers were not only encouraged to smoke the Sturm Cigarettes, indeed they were forbidden to smoke other brands.

Sir William Temple, 1st Baronet (1628-1699) Restoration diplomat, statesman and essayist. Jonathan Swift was his secretary from 1689; the original manuscript of this work was in Swift's hand. Original decorative green cloth, photo-illustration laid down to front cover, gilt lettering, blind stamped decoration to rear cover. Slightly rubbed to extremeties, rear hinge strained, spotting to edges.
Jan N. Brink adjutant of the Ladybrand commando under Crowther when Prinsloo surrendered to General Hunter. The prisoners of war were shipped to Ceylon where Brink had the opportunity to freely travel and explore the island. Written in English, this is a comprehensive contemporary study of Ceylon.
