A revised edition of Rev. Winchesters religious dialogues, the preface of which notes that when he arrived in South Carolina in 1778 in a parish upon the river Pee Dee, previous ministers had not preached to or sought the Christian salvation of the local enslaved Africans, so he began to do so. He later preached and wrote about universal salvation and helped found the Universalist Church of America, now merged with the Unitarians. .
