Foreword by George Iles. The Gilbreths were a husband and wife team who founded modern industrial psychology and pioneered methods of time and motion study, as documented in this book. They developed photographic and other analytic methods to record workers performing various repetitive motions during manufacturing and handicrafts. Frank died in his early 50s, but Lillian lived to a ripe old age and accomplished many further scientific, philanthropic and educational achievements, including rearing the twelve children whose early years are recounted by two of her offspring in the classic memoir "Cheaper by the Dozen". Previous owner Dr. Grace H.
