Light foxing to the appendix text pages and to the first few uncolored plates, the hand-colored plates are bright and clean, the brown cloth binding is bright and clean, overall a near fine copy.. Pp. viii, 343, 50 (appendix), text-figures, 27 full page plates (15 are hand-colored), 14 full page graphs. Elaborately blind-stamped and gilt-decorated cloth with gilt spine illustration of wheat and corn, 4to. This volume contains excellent hand-color plates of vegetables and cereals grown in 19th century New York. This is volume two of the Agriculture of New York. Signature of Charles Jeffery Smith on the front endpaper dated 1879. No other ownership marks.

The original tree calf is very attractive and shows few signs of use, in both volumes the endpapers are a bit browned, there are some light marginal dampstains to the front section and rear section of volume 2 only affecting the margins of the last two plates.
