A "spotty" history of this north eastern Kansas county where Kansas City now stands. Harrington notes important locations and events, covering Native American treaties and cemeteries, buildings, ferries, mission statues, graves, roads, and even the arrival of the first Masons in Kansas in August 1854. Very uncommon, and full of details.

A survey of the Chadwicks of the Northeast and North Carolina, focusing on the period from 1725 ro so and just after the Civil War, though with little mention of the war itself.
