In a modern rebinding with a burgundy leather spine, gilt titling, and marbeled paper over boards. New enpapers. Includes the complete folded map of Baltimore backed with tissue paper at the time of rebinding Iimagine, with one tear in a crease at the center of the map above the "Power House". Stamped on title page, copyright page, and on map by a now defunct organization. Numerous check marks in pencil at margins, light foxing throughout, and dampstaining, primarily in the final third of the book at hinge. 166 p. w/ the afore-mentioned map, 4 illus., excursion diary, and directory. Uncommon and important early Baltimore and B&O railroad reference by late 18th c. French emigre Varle, with a sparce but useful map.

Slight wear to edge and corners, a bit more at spine. A few pages have tiny tears at edges. All 15 numbers bound in one volume, all yellow wraps (front and rear) included. 478 p. w/ footnotes. The only volume of a projected larger history, this work covers the early years of Delaware down to approx. 1664. Unfortunately the work was not enough of a financial success for more volumes.
