An uncommon work on Armenia and its history, after the Geography and General History in vol 1 and leaving Literature for a third volume that does not appear to have seen the press. For over 30 years Issaverdens published a number of books in English regarding the history, language, and places of Armenia and the Armenian Church. Based at the monastery, it is clear the resources there helped greatly in his research. A second editon of the three extant parts was published in 1878.

It casts pre-Islamic Iran as a golden age, with Islam seen as an alien religion. An important work of intellectual history.

Cover has some soiling, but not bad. Covers and several pages have small "Armenian Studies Program W. S. U." stamped on the lower edge of pages, not obscuring any text. 77 p. w/notes, appendices, and bibliography. A compendium of reports arranged as a journal covering the time period from March 1722 to August 1723. It exists in one manuscript only, noted when the work was first published in 1863. The author , an Armenian, led a cavalry troop of his own command and organization with the Russians during the war, and was killed in the fighting. Uncommon.

Bumping to the head and heel of the spine and on the corners of the panels. Name of the previous owner written on the front free endpaper. Creasing on the upper corner of the first few pages with slight tear to the front fly-page. Crack in the binding where webbing is just visible between the rear endpapers. Also crack between pages 160-161. Foxing to page edges and page are a bit stiff. Most of the pages have not been cut along their upper edges. 624 pages with foldout maps, notes, and index. A classic work on the life and times of the Prophet Mohammed and the founding of Islam.

Boards are of flimsy quality but in good condition with slight bowing on the front panel. Name of the previous owner is written in pencil on the front free endpaper. The previous owner was Wolfgang Stolper, the noted economist. 389 pages with illustrations, bibliography, index, and errata. Laid in are maps of the Lower Aksu, Kirkgozler-Duden, Finike, Kovada II, Manavgat, Asagi Koprucay, Alara, Egridir-Upper Asku, Alanya, and Kestel projects.
