Signed by the author on the front free endpaper. 359 pages with illustrations, genealogical tables, bibliographical essay, endnotes, and index. An interesting, scholarly biography of the Empress Josephine from her youth in the West Indies to her move to Paris and survival of the French Revolution to her marriage to Napoleon Bonaparte and endin gwith her divorce in 1810 and death in 1814.
