This is the second book printed for the Boone and Crockett Club; list of members in rear and include Roosevelt, Grinnell, Owen Wister, Albert Bierstadt, Francis Parkman, Elihu Root, et al. The Boone & Crockett was instrumental in securing the passage by Congress to protect Yellowstone National Park.

A fairly obscure title and unusual to find with a dust jacket. Jerome D. Travers, an amateur from the Upper Montclair (N.J.) Country Club, followed in the footsteps of the legendary Francis Ouimet. Travers, already having won the amateur four times by 1913, achieved his long-term ambition in the U.S. Open by playing the last six holes in one under par to beat Tom McNamara by a stroke and capture the 1915 National Championship held at the Baltusrol (N.J.) ALSO inserted is a postcard with Dana Lamb's address in Ipswich Mass. printed at the top and postmarked 1981 - with a holograph note signed Dana to Paul Fitzgerald of The Angler's Club of New York. ALSO inserted is an old facsimile from the Hotel & Motel Belle Plage / Matane on the Sea / Matane, Quebec confirming his plans; Dana wrote a note to "Walt" at the bottom and signed it "Dana." ALSO inserted is a two-page typed letter to Walt Thomas of The Angler's Club of New York (dated October 9, 1962 and on the letterhead of Ingalls & Snyder - Members of the New York Stock Exchange) summarizing his fishing experiences in Canada - St. John River, New Brunswick; Restigouche - Flatlands; Matane, Madelaine; Cap Chat; Matapedia; Miramichi; and Maine Rivers. The letter is signed "Dana" above the typed "Dana S. Lamb." ALSO included is a small b&w photograph (referred in his paragraph on Matapedia) - "of a fairly typical speciman fairly taken by the son of our non-resident member, Archie Torry." Walt Thomas Walt Thomas was active in The Angler's Club of New York at this time and was later president of it from 1964-1965. A unique association copy in fine condition.

Patrick Gray.

Pigeon Racing Records 1924-1927 - Eastern Seaboard

Record of Birds Starting 1924-1927. Two thin notebooks measuring 6.5" x 8.25", name on cover of one volume reads "Edward Mittasch." Apparently these are the time records for this pigeon racer's pigeons. They raced in a variety of races in many locales along the Eastern Seaboard including the 100 Mile Short Race, 100 Mile Club Race, 300 Mile Regular Race, 300 Mile Yearling Race, 400 Mile Regular Race, 500 Mile Regular Race, 150 Mile Club Race in Greater Newark, New Jersey; races for the Elizabeth, New Jersey Club, 200 Grand National in Newark, the South Bronx Club, 400 Grand National in New York, the Chattanooga National Race from New York, the Eastern Interconcourse Race, Wilmington Delaware; Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, Virginia; Grand National at Danville, Virginia; 500 Mile Race at Salisbury, North Carolina; 600 Mile Club Race at Spartansburg, South Carolina; 1000 Mile Race at Pensacola, Florida; these two volumes are a bit worn and have a bit of vintage bird droppings on the covers.
