In this Boring and Holway, discussing their experiments and findings with regard to the perceived size mirrored images of the moon and sun at the horizon versus other heights in the sky. Edwin Boring was an American experimental psychologist, involved with intelligence testing during World War I, as well as optical illusion research. This resulted in the 'Boring Figure' as well as noted research in the appearance of the moon (see Wikipedia). GOOD+ condition. Uneven fading and toning to the wraps. Light curling at the corners.

With 54 in page small illustrations, some depicting graphic sexual situations. ALL TEXT IN GERMAN. A work examining various fetishes and fetishism, including orthopedic fetishes, sadism, etc, geared toward doctors and criminologists. In POOR/FAIR condition. Backstrip is completely DETACHED with some of it present but laid into the book. Binding is very weak, with the covers almost coming loose. Heavy scuffing to the extremities of the book; minor scuffing to the covers. Minor soiling with uneven minor fading and darkening. Text block is clean and solid, with moderate darkening to the pages. First front endpaper DETACHED. In POOR/FAIR condition with a very weak binding.

A lecture on hypnotism (or animal magnetism) and its use in medicine as a cure, focusing on psychological effects, with some consideration of the work in hypnotism and hypnotherapy of Scottish surgeon James Braid (see online bibliography by Adam Crabtree, "Animal Magnetism, Early Hypnotism, and Psychical Research, 1766 - 1925. An Annotated Bibliography #1035). Christian Baumler was a German surgeon and professor, lecturing at the university in Freiburg. GOOD condition. Moderate soiling, some darkening and staining to the covers. Moderate chipping and tearing along the extremities. Small, faint note in pencil to the front cover. Minor scattered foxing in the interior. Many pages unopened along the top edge.

Volume two only of this work that focuses on one male subject and their experiences with transvestism, as well as their interests in women was various physical impairments. This volume primarily consists of drawings done by the subject that depict women of his interests and desires, some fantasy, some based on real people, with the subject's commentary accompanying the illustrations.
