A catalog to a 1966 exhibition of photography featured in the annual exhibition held at the University of Oregon. This exhibition featured photography, with the catalog containing images of the seventeen photographs selected to be purchased by the museum. This includes photos by Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, Minor White, Ruth Bernhard, Edwin J. Dolan, Philip Hyde, Elmer Wefers and others. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and wrinkling to the piece.

Australia: No publisher. Unbound. Good. 23 Real Photo Postcards of Australia. Various publishers and places. No dates, but presumed circa 1930s-50s. All black and white, measuring 5 ½ by 3 ½ inches. All USED, with writing on the reverse, and some with stamps/mail cancellations. Includes photos of Wangaratta, Sydney, Narooma, Corowa and elsewhere. All in GOOD condition. Minor general toning, varying amounts of creasing/bumping to the corners and other general, minor wear. All with extensive writing on the reverse. One with a small ink note on the front.

Oblong folio. 290 pp. A catalog to a 2004 exhibition of the photographs of Roger Fenton, accompanied by many essays examining his work, as well as a section presenting full page reproductions of his photography, including some from his Crimean War excursion, landscapes of Britain, still life photography, etc. Roger Fenton was a British photographer of the 19th century, one of the first to document war (The Crimean War). VERY GOOD condition. Minor rubbing and edgewear.

Syracuse: Light Work, Publisher, 2001. Wraps. Very Good. Glossy stiff wraps. 48 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A collection of photographs by Andrea Modica, assembled for a 2001 exhibition. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and scuffing.

New York: Interview Enterprises, 1976. Tabloid. Fair. Tabloid newspaper format, side folding. 46 pp. Black and white photos throughout, including a photograph of Peter Lemongello by Robert Mapplethorpe. Photo of the month is a nude picture of Mata Hari, circa 1904. Single issue of this magazine devoted to pop culture, including an interview with William Burroughs, Robert Rauschenberg, Goldie Hawn, the pop group First Choice and others. With a interview/conversation conducted by Andy Warhol of Patrick Lichfield. FAIR condition Heavy toning to the paper. Horizontal center fold present, with chipping and tearing to the front cover along its entire length, rendering it into two halves. Some chipping and tearing along the extremities. Address label on the upper front cover.

Black half leather with black cloth. 768 pp. Photos and various types of gravures at the front of some bulletins, 14 in all, including frontispiece. A bound volume spanning January to December, containing the year's worth of bulletins (apparently issued twice monthly). A bound volume of this bulletin or journal that focused on the technical aspects of photography and the photographic process, addressing techniques, equipment, etc. FAIR/GOOD condition. Front and rear cover very tenuously attached; they will probably detach with much further handling. Leather very scuffed along the hinges and edges. Backstrip lifted off and reattached with archival glue. Owner's stamp on the second endpaper. Text block solid but toned.

A detailed guide to nature photography, focusing on "seeing" what is in the viewfinder and the art of composition that comes with it. With side by side photographic examples. VERY GOOD condition. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2016. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. Folio. Beige cloth in unclipped jacket. Square folio. Unpaginated. Black and white photos throughout. A monograph on the photography of August Sander, mostly visual, but with a brief essay on his life and work at the beginning. This focuses on his landscape photography. Sander was an influential German photographer in the early 20th century, known for his portraiture. Many of his photos document the lives of Germans during the Weimar Republic. Sander lived in Germany during the Nazi regime, with his work restricted and his book 'Face of our Time' seized by the government in 1936. VERY GOOD condition. Minor soiling, fading and scuffing to the jacket, with a faint area of discoloration to the upper rear jacket. Light fading and edgewear to the book.

London: The Arts Council of Great Britain, 1974. Wraps. Good. Photo illustrated wraps. 24 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A catalog to an exhibition of the photography of industrial structures by Bernd and Hilla Becher, an artist couple whose industrial photography challenged the boundaries between documentary and fine art photography. Photos in this book taken mostly in England, France and Germany. GOOD condition. Some toning and soiling to the covers, mostly along the edges. Some scuffing and edgewear.

No Place: No Publisher. Unbound. Good. Black and White Photo of a Manchester, New Hampshire Baseball team. Undated, but believed early 1900s. 6 3/4 by 4 3/4 inch photo mounted on a dark green pebbled matte board measuring 7 1/2 by 8 inches. Faint blindstamped name of photography studio at the bottom, perhaps G. Jackson, although this is unclear. The photo consists of 10 players, perhaps college age or slightly older, with two older men in the rear, in suits. Three men wear Manchester uniforms, two wear St. Paul uniforms and four are without a named uniform. They are posed in front of a large wraparound porch, seated in the grass. Two men are wearing their gloves, with two other gloves laying in the grass and one glove and two crossed bats laying in the foreground. A catcher's mask is also visible in the grass. No Place: No Publisher. Unbound. Good. Black and white Photo of a Gentleman Playing Baseball, captioned 'The Gen. at the Bat.' Undated, perhaps late 1800s. No indication of photographer or name of the batter. 5 1/2 by 4 inch photo mounted on a 10 by 7 inch cream matte board. Handwritten ink caption pasted below the photo. A rather faded photo of a gentleman in a batting stance, with bat over the shoulder. Several other men standing in the background watching, one apparently leaning on a bat. All dressed in every day clothes, not uniforms. A horse carriage and a few women can be seen in the distant background. GOOD condition. Small diagonal crease to the photo's upper right corner. The matte board is rather browned, with some spotting and staining, from ink and glue. Extremities bumped and scuffed. Minor soiling.

This issue includes work from Chuck Close, James Baldessari, Thomas Demand, Philip-Lorca Dicorcia, Sally Mann, Vik Muniz, Wolfgang Tillmans and others. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and rubbing to the covers and extremities. Small price label on the upper left front cover.

Black and white photos throughout as well as one apparent painted photo by Karl Moon. Single issue of this monthly magazine, this one relying heavily on photographs. Of note are a series of 14 Photographs by Carl moon, an American photographer perhaps best known for his photographs of Native Americans. These photos depict Native Americans living in the Taos, New Mexico area and are reminiscent of the work by Edward Curtis. While some critics have acclaimed his work for its documentation of Native American life, the work seems to mythologize the false concept of the disappearance of Native Americans in the US. The article concludes, "we are loath to confess that, in the final count, it is best that man's progress in the cultivation of land should be unchecked, and our reluctance lies in the fact that this change must toll the knell of the Redman's [sic] day." Of note is a photo essay on the steel mills in Pittsburgh, including orange and black toned photographs of the mills at night, taken by photographer Henry Van Der Weyde. Also included is a photo by Jane Dudley of "Penelope." GOOD condition. Moderate scuffing, chipping, creasing, tearing, and loss to the covers along the extremities. Minor creasing, soiling, and staining to the covers. Corners very curled.

Of note is a photo essay on Cuba and life in that country; a short photo illustrated essay on the use of machinery in the practices of Buddhists in Japan and Tibet. Also present in the photo contest section is a fine art photograph by Wilbur H. Porterfield, reminiscent of the work of Alfred Stieglitz. Porterfield was a photographer from the Buffalo area, who formed the Photo-Pictorialists of Buffalo. This group embraced techniques in photography being used by Stieglitz and others. GOOD condition. A monograph on the work of French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, focusing on his photos taken from a variety of places worldwide. GOOD condition. Minor soiling and rubbing to the jacket. Many small to one inch tears along the jacket extremities, with some chipping and minor loss. Jacket edges a bit curled. Minor fading and edgewear to the book.

A trade catalog from the Perry Pictures Company, which sold reproductions of paintings and illustrations of a variety of subjects, from people to landscapes, history, geography and architecture, primarily serving schools in North America by supplying visual aids (see the Smithsonian Collection of American History). GOOD condition. Area of offsetting to the rear cover, with minor soiling and wrinkling.

With photos by the previously mentioned artists. VERY GOOD condition. Minor scuffing and edgewear, with light soiling and a hint of toning. Interior clean and solid.

A variety of portraits depicting women, men and children. Most photos appear to be from the New England, New York area, with one from Stockholm, Sweden. In generally GOOD condition with general browning, some scattered soiling and minor staining, as well as minor scattered foxing. Extremities lightly bumped and scuffed. A few with faint creases or wrinkles. One or two with writing on the back.
